Advantages: delicious, cheap
Disadvantages: ///
One of my friends and I are obsessed with Fruit Flakes. It is often the topic of conversation. Though it came to my attention that I had never actually eaten any Fruit Flakes before! So I went in search of some to try.
There were a few options I coul dhave chosen, some with yoghurt coating and some without. One packet in particular caught my eye. it was a red shade with 'Fruit Flakes' written on the front in green lettering. Reading the packet I found that this was the 'Cranberries and yoghurt' option. I am a huge lover of all things cranberry so I decided these would be the perfect option to try!
Taking the packet to the self-scan tills (man, I love those!), I found the packet cost 36p. i was quite relieved at that price, and as I had forgotten to check how much it cost before hand, I was hoping I didn't scan it only to realise I couldn't afford it (I bought other things too, not just that!).
Taking the packet home I sat down ready to try. When I tore open the top of the pack with ease, a sweet fruity aroma drifted out. This have me an instant positive first impression, I couldn't wait to try!
I emptied out a handful to have a look. They were a fair size, and coated in a creamy white yoghurt layer. Through some of them bits of ref-pink were poking out, obviously the cranberry (I hoped!). I took one and bit straight into it. The layer of yoghurt was quite thick and smooth, creamy almost. It was very sweet too. The cranberry was rather big too, and quite juicy yet dry at the same time. The fruity sweet combination was an utter delight, to die for!
There is not doubt that these are delicious, but are they healthy> Fruit - I hope so! Each 20g packet contains 85 calories and 2.8g fat. That is quite a low amount considering they're so sweet! Definitely beats an apple any day!
These are delicious, cheap too! You can find them in most good supermarkets which means they are widely available. Now I am addicted to these delicious fruit pieces! Next time you fancy a snack pick up a bag of fruit flakes! Since they come in all sorts of options ie raisins, raspberries etc there is bound to be a flavour for you!
