The centre of the chocolate really makes this chocolate bar what it is. it's a peppermint soft centre which is really gooey in its consistency but this makes it fantastic fun to eat as well as taste nice. I have always liked mint tasting chocolate products as I think the two different flavours really go hand in hand, and this ones no different. The chocolate really brings out the mint flavour over the top of it and whilst the...more

Premium Review Fry's Chocolate Cream: Where have all the Flavours Gone? (1020 words)

I went to the shops today, hoping that I might find some offers on the limited range of chocolate that I can eat. I have a milk allergy as many of you may know by now, but for new readers I'll just mention that this isn't something I can risk eating. I can't digest any form of milk sugars, that exist in milk, butter, margarine, pastry, cakes, and even in some meats. Instead it stays in my stomach, fermenting away until it acts as a poison in my body. I can get away with the tiniest trace, but I don't like to worry about being ill when I should be watching the TV and indulging myself in an Easter treat. I can buy dairy-free chocolate from large supermarkets but my nearest ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review A Delicious Fry (Made By Cadburys) (626 words)

Driving a taxi around Dublin City tends to make me just a tad peckish from time to time, and a wee bar of chocolate is just the job for keeping the hunger pangs at bay, and also for giving a quick boost to the old energy levels at the end of a long and tiring shift battling with the horrendous city traffic. I've always loved chocolate, ever since I was a nipper, and the one I'm going to write about here, Fry's Chocolate Cream, has always been one of my favourites. The first essential in writing a good review is to research your topic thoroughly, to make sure you have all the relevant information at your finger tips. So that's just what I've done! My teenage ...  Read the complete review

Crowned Review Fry's Chocolate Cream: An After Eight by any other name... (1174 words)

Hmmmm, I've been on my diet for a week now and decided today that a treat's in order. Not wanting to go too over the top (I really wanted a king size Twix!), I thought I'd go and browse the choc bar shelf and choose something tasty but lower calories than a standard size chocolate bar. After looking at the calories in various Cadbury's bars and deciding against bombarding my body with over a ton of sugar, I spotted a wrapper that I've not seen for a long time..... A peppermint flavour Fry's Chocolate Cream. Ohhhhhh, I wanted to buy 2 soooooo badly but will power kicked in (amazing considering I haven't got any!) and I, saint-like, picked up ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Ah, a taste from my childhood (416 words)

Fry's Chocolate Cream is one of those choccy bars that was around when I was a little girl (many moons ago now!) so maybe that's one of the reasons it is still one of those special comforting tastes to me. The combination of the fondant cream filling and the rich dark chocolate melts in your mouth in a very satisfying way. The taste is very indulgent, reminiscent of far more expensive chocolatier fondants that usually cost an arm and a leg. For about 40p, you can really have something that tastes far more special than the other chocolate bars. Even better buy is in Tesco's or Sainsbury's where you can get a 3 - pack for about £1.05 ... but can you really eat just ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Fry's Chocolate Cream: These Bars Have Been Around Longer Than Me! (624 words)

If anyone was born in the 60s reading this review then you might remember the Fry's Five Centre Cream bar which consisted of orange, lime, pineapple, vanilla and strawberry centres all in the same bar- it was heaven! -sadly no more. We are still left with the trio- Peppermint (like After Eights really), cream (this review), and the less available Orange. This afternoon I treated myself to a few squares from the cream version which I haven't had for a while. I used to wonder why you could buy these in health food stores until my daughter told me they are vegan as they contain no milk at all. They are also dark chocolate and richly decadent so an adult pleasure ...  Read the complete review
