Advantages: Ehh, It's galaxy chocolate.
Disadvantages: It's very scratchy
Well, I stumbled across this chocolate bar by complete accident. I was at my local Tesco Express looking for a quick and cheap chocolate fix. I saw a bright yellow card saying 2 for 80p, Wow, that's quite impressive as most chocolate bars now cost over 50p each so, I read all the details, any of the regular sized bars of galaxy including ripple bars. Oh, now I was spoiled for choice. I went for a Galaxy Caramel and a regular Galaxy. I noticed that the wrapper on the regular one was darker and thought I'd picked up dark chocolate instead of milk, but no, It said Cookie Crumble in small writing below the large print of Galaxy. I was intrigued and decided to give it a go, regardless of the fact that I'd never heard of it.
***The packaging ***
It is a plastic foil wrapper pinch sealed at each end to keep in freshness. The design of the wrapper is unmistakeably for a bar of Galaxy chocolate, with their trademark cream and brown swirling colours and their Name right across the centre of it. You'd have to have a second glance to know it was more than just their regular chocolate bar. With a second look you may notice a small picture of 2 crumbly cookies to the top right corner of the wrapper which blends in with the colouring of the wrapper, you may also notice in fine and smallish print it is called a Cookie Crumble.
***The Chocolate***
This 45g bar has 246kcals. The bar has 6 equal sized rectangular pieces each one the width of the pack. The underside of the bar is were you can see the dark pieces of cookie. The Galaxy brand has gone for a new shape which is difficult to describe but it's kind of like a diagonal curve, which is supposed to make the chocolate melt in your mouth quicker. I put 1 rectangle into my mouth and it's melting then the cookie becomes very scratchy on the roof of my mouth, once the chocolate is mostly melted I crunch the rest.
***My Opinion***
I have never heard of this bar before, plus, the wrapper does not stand out from the others, it's almost as if it's a secret. I was interested at the thought of this chocolate as it's quite different to anything else I've seen. You can't go wrong with Galaxy chocolate, or can you. I reckon the cookie pieces are a bit too rough for such a recognisably smooth chocolate. I would have enjoyed it more if they had been a lot less scratchy, it could easily rip your mouth to shreds. It had a nice taste, the biscuit has a nice buttery taste and it did compliment the chocolate. I would recommend giving it a try but beware. I may buy it again if I'm looking for something different, but I won't be rushing out to buy it.
Summary: Quite disappointing.
