Like most people I am familar with Galaxy chocolate (okay, so I admit it, I am a chocoholic - don't knock it, I enjoy it. So when I spotted this new flavour I felt it was my duty to give it a go. So, what is it ? Galaxy - Raisin, almond and hazelnut. (chocolate bar) Is the packaging all flash then ? Actually no, it's not. In fact at first I didn't even realize it was a new flavour. The wrapper is the usual beige/brown with the name Galaxy in brown lettering, then, underneath that, in quite small type it says Raisin, Almond & Hazelnut. In the top right corner there is a small picture of one raisin and one almond and one ... Read the complete review

"Signature Galaxy smoothness enhanced with delicious pieces of raisin, almond and hazelnut". If you have read some of my previous reviews, then you will have noticed that (like a lot of people) i'm a bit of a chocolate addict. If I have a choice between buying Cadbury or Galaxy, I will generally go for the Galaxy - to me, it tastes creamier, and has a smoother texture - although i'm sure it's a lot sweeter these days than it used to be. One Galaxy product which I hadn't sampled prior to a couple of days ago, was their 'Raisin Almond & Hazelnut Bar', which I suppose is equivalent to Cadbury's 'Fruit and Nut'. Costing £1.26 ... When I saw this bar in Tesco on special offer (£1 a bar), I just had to treat myself. What could go wrong, I like chocolate, I love almonds and hazelnuts and I love raisins too. Well absolutely nothing could go wrong, it's a perfect combination. Galaxy of course is beautiful chocolate, and this bar is no exception. It's creamy and wonderfully milky, but it's not overly sweet which can be a problem with some chocolate. There is just the right amount of nuts and raisins, the packet says 11% for raisins and 9% for the nuts combined, which means you are getting plenty of the Galaxy chocolate for your money. It's not a bar for those who ... Read the complete review

This bar that combines raisins, milk chocolate, almonds and hazelnuts is Galaxy attempt to get some of the market from Cadbury Fuit and Nut, it is a strange product in one sense as the market for this type of combination is actually not growing however it does still raise about £40 million in sales for Cadbury so getting a slice of the market is worth while. So the question is wll the succceed? As a chocoholic I eat a fair few bars and for a change I do like some fruit and nut as I like the juicy raisins combined with the milk chocolate. I like galaxy as it has a lovely creamy taste and is a nice smooth chocolate and while it is very sweet the ... Read the complete review

I am a big fan of Cadbury's Fruit & Nut but also a fan of the smoothness of Galaxy chocolate, so when I saw this bar of Galaxy Raisin, Almond & Hazelnut I thought I'd give it a try. Plus, I've not made it to my five a day yet so the raisins must count for something towards that surely! The packaging follows the Galaxy tradition with a light brown outer paper sleeve overprinted with dark brown text and an inner foil wrapper. It differes from the standard chocolate bar in that the light brown seeps into a violet colour on the right hand side of the sleeve and the foil is also a violet colour rather than the usual bronze. It's different without being ... Read the complete review
