I just had one of these slices because I come over starving and only something hot and stodgy would do it. I nuked mine because I couldn't be bothered to wait 20 mins for the oven, I knew I'd be sacrificing the crispy pastry but didn't care because I don't mind soggy microwaved pastry sometimes! It's proper nice, the taste is very peppery so if you're not mad for spicy food then you might think it's a bit much but I love it! The steak is always tender in these and it suprises me every time I have one because in most of these cold slices the meat is usually a bit stringy. There's loads of meat in the slice, there's a few vegetables but I ... Read the complete review

If I can manage to find the Ginsters deep filled peppered steak slice on offer or reduced in price then I will happily buy a couple but other than that at £1.59p a time they have to be considered a bit of a treat. I admit to being a fan of the Ginsters products, their steak slices make a decent snack and they certainly don't look out of place on a plate served with some creamed potato and vegetables, if you are going all out then you could even consider putting a few homemade chips on the plate with them. Ginsters are based in Cornwall and produce good quality pastry products and sandwiches. Pepper sauce always goes well with beef and Ginsters have ... Read the complete review

I have always maintained that Ginsters is a rather expensive way of eating. I don't doubt the quality of their food, and have pretty much enjoyed everything I have had from their range, and the same goes with their Peppered Steak Slice. The other day, we had a picnic, and our local Somerfield had them on a half price offer at 87p each. Not one to turn down an obvious bargain, I nabbed a couple of these, a couple of other flavours as well. Ginsters pride themselves on sourcing as lcoally as possible with their food, and also on making frsh, wholesome and satisifying food. I can say that the Steak slice I had while we were out on our picnic was very nice indeed, ... Read the complete review

When it comes to pastry products although I am fully aware that it isn't the most healthy of things to eat...I can't help loving it lol. The other day in Sainsbury's when I saw this in the refrigerator priced at £1.59 I couldn't resist it purely because of the mouthwatering looking slice shown on the packaging! The Packaging.... Long oblong and black packet with a photograph of the slice on the front. In white and grey writing I'm told it is Ginsters Of Cornwall Peppered Steak Slice which is 'Fresh British steak with vegetables in a creamy pepper sauce, wrapped in light puff pastry', the best before date is clearly stamped on in black ink ...
