Advantages: Taste good, good snack size
Disadvantages: Flavours rather similar
Nik Naks are strictly speaking not crisps but are knobbly corn snacks. I have always enjoyed them as a snack with their tasty flavours. I was however quite shocked to recently discover that my favourite flavour of Scampi and Lemon was no more and had been replaced by the rather boring and slightly less tasty Pickled Onion! I was not amused!!
The remaining variety of flavours all slightly merge into one as they do all taste rather similar!
If you have never eaten a Nik Nak they are rather odd nobbly shaped snack with small bits and larger bits. They have a nice crunch as you bite into them and a great tangy tasty flavour.
I always buy Nik Naks in multi bags but I think you can buy them individually in shops. A multi bag of 10 crisps costs around £1.85. The varieties now are Rib and Saucy, Nice and Spicy and Pickled Onion. My favourite now is the Nice and Spicy but they are all enjoyable and as I said all rather similar you cant really pick out the particular flavours. My new favourite now is the Nice and Spicy which have a lovely lip-licking nice flavour and as they arent really too spicy. I find the pickled onion and the rib and saucy very similar and not really tasting of a particular flavour in general.
Neither crisps nor corn snacks are ever going to be healthy although the packet does says that they contain 50% less saturated fat. One bag also contains around 141kcal and 9.6g of fat (2.1g is saturated fat) so not exactly healthy! The snack is made of maize and does contain wheat, milk, soya and gluten so not good if you allergies.
I enjoy Nik Naks they are a good size if you just feel a bit hungry before dinner they fill a hole without spoiling your dinner. I love the taste of them, ok they aren't exactly authentic tasting crisps but they are enjoyable and I will continue to buy them and eat them as snacks or to put in packed lunches.
Summary: A tasty corn snack.

- 19/11/09 Rib'n'Saucy for me - and I hate scampi & lemon, so I didn't mind that change at all! |

- 11/10/09 I didn't know these still existed. I loved the Scampi and lemon, certainly don't fancy Pickled onion! |

- 10/10/09 Yeah but at least you don't leave the whole room stinking of fish when you have the pickled onion! |
