Golden Wonder Worcester Sauce Wheat Crunchies

These were another type of crisp I never had as a child. I do remember trying them for the first time though. I spotted them on offer whilst I was at University & decided to give them a go as Monster Munch (my usual purchase at the time) was full price. Wheat Crunchies describe themselves as "crunchy wheaty tubes" & contain no artificial colours, flavours or MSG. Each bag weighs 25g. When it comes to crisps and snacks I could seriously just live on them and stop eating meals altogether! Wheat Crunchies are a tubular savoury snack. KP took them over from Golden Wonder some years ago, but they still seem to be the same very artificial flavoured crisp-like product as before. At 45p for a 30g bag from the vending machine, they are a mid-priced savoury product. This review is of the Worcester Sauce flavour. The tubes are golden brown in colour, circular in cross-section, an inch long, half an inch wide and hollow. The surface has a slightly rough texture. I haven't had Wheat Crunchies for years, but the multi packs were on special offer in Tesco, and since the kids pinched all the spicy ones straight away, I was left to sample the Worcester Sauce flavoured ones. The first thing to say about Wheat Crunchies is that although they don't seem as greasy as crisps, they are in fact very bad for you, almost one third of the product is fat. As you can see from the picture they are tubes of wheat. No nut allergy warnings on the pack, but it's noted that they are produced on a line that handles milk and eggs.
