Advantages: Tasty, smooth chocolate
Disadvantages: Butterscotch pieces somewhat stodgy
Having shared a bar of this after the Christmas period, I enjoyed it without being wowed.
It's a very pleasant premium chocolate bar with good quality smooth chocolate and the list of ingredients certainly support their marketing of the product as a luxury item.
As mentioned by other reviewers, the butterscotch pieces are very hit and miss. Some of the segments I found were vaguely crisp (it had been in the fridge for a while), while others ended up as somewhat sticky and stodgy reminders of what a good idea butterscotch in chocolate must have been when they came up with it!
Please don't let this specific comment/rating put you off the ranges as a whole. They produce a wide range of flavours (including mint/ginger/cherry) and I've been more impressed with some of the other offerings.
That said, the cost is a little prohibitive. While they can often be found as part of a multisave deal (2 for £x etc.), they usually retail at close to twice the price of their nearest competitor. The large supermarket chains have started to cotton on to the potential gains of ethical shopping and most of the well known chains are now producing their own equivalents. Give these a try too, but do come back to the Green and Black's when you want a special treat.
Summary: Good idea, poorly executed
