Ah, chocolate.. the Food of the Gods! And don’t let anyone tell you different (I mean, all this talk about Ambrosia being the food of the Gods…I mean, I have nothing against rice pudding per se…but compared to chocolate..) Anyway, I know that chocolate is really the food of the Gods and that’s because the botanical name of the cocoa tree, from which we get all chocolate, is “Theobroma Cacao” which translated from the Greek means…you got it…”food of the Gods.”So there! If you are a chocolate lover (and if you aren’t then you and I are so diametrically opposed that we will never see eye to ... Read the complete review

I got some chocolate for Xmas. “Well, so what?” I hear you saying. If you’ve read some of my reviews before now then you know I have a severe milk allergy and the choice of chocolate is very limited. This year I was in for a surprise, not only my daughter but my sister as well happened to buy me the same product. I was in seventh heaven as I licked the remaining bits of chocolate from my fingers tonight. But I’m not just here to tell you about my latest milk-free goodies, this is one special chocolate that everyone should get a taste of because it’s simply luxurious. I’m talking about Green & Blacks dark chocolate, a veritable feast from the ordinary dark ... Read the complete review

This is surely the best box of chocolates on the mass market. It is hard to think of what life was like before Green and Blacks chocolate bars hit the market. The darkest you could get in your local sweet shop was the sugary Bournville bars. Old Jamaican was the height of the exotic. Even the dark chocolate red bounty was not universally stocked. Green and Black's Maya Gold hit the market twelve years ago. Organic Dark Chocolate with minimum 70% cocoa solids, with orange oils and spices. I remember tasting it at someone's house after dinner. Proper grown up chocolate, so intense it was almost savoury. Since then, other ... Read the complete review

Many people would say that all chocolate is the same. Well I beg to differ. Green and Black's Organic Chocolate is made for anyone who enjoy a rich flavour and smooth texture. I am very aware of environmental concerns and love to buy organic food. In 1991 Josephine Fairley and Craig Sams set up Green & Black's in with the aim to make an organic chocolate. There philosophy was to create a pure product of unadulterated luxury that in turn would also be less harmful to the environment. Now surely luxury and caring for the environment is a contraction in turns. Not so! No chemicals or genetically modified ingredients enter in this chocolate making process, ... Totally brilliant. All the favourites from around the globe are packed into little miniature chocolates. Green and Blacks range are mouth-watering to the ends of the earth. Chocolate and fillings are not sparse here yet with a sense of urgency, one can not help but eat them. Texture is the main feature - not to rough and not too watery, these chocolates have hit the nail on the head in almost every area. The packaging looks good too. I first received these for my birthday, and how gorgeous they were! I'd eat them nearly everyday, if they were cheaper. But even though I can't splash out all the time, every moment when I eat them is ... Read the complete review
