Advantages: rich, creamy taste

Disadvantages: packaging is not kiddy proof

I have one major problem with ice-cream. And that tens to be hiding it from my darling children. They just don't appreciate the good stuff. And this is the good stuff. To that end I don't buy it often. However, this was on special in Tesco the other week so I thought what th heck. I went for some yesterday to find 85% gone and the tub looking like it had been involved in a fight with the frozen chips.

The ice cream is a side shoot of the ever more popular choclate range whcih is devine. I therefore have high expectationsa nd I am glad to say I was not disapointed.

The packing is simple but evokes the flavour of vanilla with a rich creamy colour. It's packaged like Hagen Daz and Ben and Jerry's and usually costs arounf £4. I got it for £2

In terms of the packaging it is easy to open. The lid comes of to reveal a protective sealed layer that peels back slowly to reveal a very rich, creamy looking, but solid ice cream.

Pateience is needed as the ice cream needs about 15 minutes to soften. When eaten at this soft stage it is perfect for tucking in with a big spoon a la Ally McBeal (for those of us who remember that show).

The ice cream is rich and creamy and loaded with calories, but very worth while. it is not one to be consumed in large amounts, and I would probably find it too sickly if I did. It's a perfect acompaniment to many desserts, or just on it's own. Sometimes just from the tub, but always out of sight of the children.

My gripe comes when kids get their sticky fingers of MY ice cream and they don't leave it to soften. They hack at the ice cram and wreck the tub and it ends up like a disguarded pile of rubbish leaking over the bottom of the freezer. So sadly the packaging does not fulfill it's main purpose all the time. I do have a simple solution for this. Age restriction. Minimum age - 18.

All in excellent ice cream and when prep work is done right, a real treat.

Summary: devine ice-cream.............if you can be patient
