Advantages: Tasty, crunchy and full of flavour and vey good as one of your 5 a day portions...

Disadvantages: This brand can be very expensive if full price...

I have always loved Green Giant Sweetcorn even from being a toddler. :)

I loved it as corn on the cob or the tinned variety although I wasn't too keen on it cooked from fresh as it seemed too hard in texture compared to the softer, sweeter kernels out of their cans...

Recently 2 tins packed together (250ml size) have been found on special offer of 75p for the pair, which is really cheap for this variety as it is the best brand there is for this type of food.

The type in our kitchen cupboard is 'No added salt or sugar' as it is healthier than the ones with additives.
Ours has 100% natural ingredients and is just the corn in water vacuumed packed to stay fresh for longer. The tin I am reviewing is in date until 2012, although I doubt it will last that long!

As a child I used to love the Jolly Green Giant and he still makes me smile as well as knowing nowadays he stands for top quality foods.

Advertising 'Naturally sweet' and one of my five a day in vegetable or fruit portions by eating 80g; the calories per 100g drained weight are only 61 which is good considering this is a carbohydrate source.

For me it's my favourite Sweetcorn as I love it crunchiness and sweet texture as well as how crisp and fresh it tastes.
The colour always makes a nice contrast too and seeing as it is so full of flavour it can be used either hot with a cooked meal or cold in a salad. Stir fries and pastas as suggested on the tin too, although we also add it to cous cous for extra flavour and tasty bite sized pieces that add interest to our food.

I think Green Giant is one of those foods that you don't mind paying extra for although it's always good to find things on special offer too! (:

Five stars for my Sweetcorn of choice, you can beat it!

Summary: I don't know if i'll be able to afford this as a student but it's always my favourite Sweetcorn!
