The sachets of Green`s quick gel often stay in my store cupboard until the summer months. There's no good reason why you shouldn't enjoy a fruit flan in Winter but I always make them as a Summer pudding. As the soft fruit season gets into full swing the strawberries, raspberries and currants are often plentiful and are priced affordably. Of course a can of fruit too makes an enjoyable fruit flan but I think given the choice I would rather use fresh fruit. I do enjoy cooking at home, whether it be main meals for my boys or just the odd cake here and there as a bit of treat. However, now the summer is here (well, technically it is anyway) and so are the summer fruits, I've been trying to broaden my range of different cakes. I thought about making a strawberry flan, which was a favourite thing of mine that my mum made for me, so I headed off to the supermarket after getting my shopping list from my mum!
