Being a sucker for cheesecake and any money off details and having the will power of a BB contestant faced with a camera I got sucked into buying some GU choc and vanilla cheesecakes while shopping in Tesco the other day. Currently they have an offer on which involves buying two for £4 which would appear to be a £1 saving on the normal price in the shop of £2.50 each. Packaging Normally I’m not too bothered about the packaging as long as it protects the product after all it will end up in either the recycle bin or the dustbin but with this product it does need a mention. In each box you get two cheesecakes and each one is contained in a small glass ... Read the complete review

I have recently started a little tradition of buying myself a special treat on a Friday, as it's my husband's Pub night. This week's choice was this twin pack of Gu Chocolate and Vanilla Cheesecakes (and yes, I was planning in eating both!), however I ended up having my first one rather early due to stress of car trouble! I digress... I decided on these as I really loved their chocolate souffles and the Gu packaging always jumps out at me from the shelf, looking luxurious and decadent (with a matching price!). These cheesecakes are presented in a black box and are served in glass ramekins, with foil removable lids. Feeling naughty but really looking forward to ... Read the complete review

I was in Tesco this morning looking for a dessert to serve at a dinner party I am holding on Sunday, I will cook all the food myself but shop bought desserts are such good quality these days that I think I can get away with it. I noticed GU Choc and Vanilla Cheesecakes were on special offer at £1.99 for 2 instead of £2.99 so I bought a box to try them and if they are nice enough then I will go back to Tesco and stock up for everyone to eat after their meal on Sunday. I have never tried this before so I am writing this review based on my very first impressions of what looks to be a delicious cheesecake. Opening the box I am confronted by the cheesecakes in ... I came across Gu chocolate puds a while ago and recently bought Gu Choc & Vanilla Cheesecakes. Now, I am very partial to chocolate, but in general I tend not to go for chocolate puddings as most tend to be ‘chocolate flavoured’ and have no resemblance to the taste of real chocolate, however Gu puds are something else!! Puddings in the Gu range include: Hot chocolate souffles Chocolate truffles with Raspberry Compote (this is gorgeous) Chocolate Amaretto truffles Hot choc and coffee souffle Choc, Orange and Almond truffle Dark chocolate, Orange and Almond Torte Fluffy double chocolate mousses . . . plus many ... I first encountered the delectable Gü brand when I got to sample their chocolate mousse at a black-tie ball, and I have to say it was the best chocolate mousse I've ever eaten (and I've eaten a lot!). So it was with high expectations that, when we decided to splash out on a treat, I reached across the Sainsbury's fridge to a Gü 'choc & vanilla cheesecake'. I love cheesecake, I love chocolate, and I love the Gü brand... so it had a lot to live up to. The Gü company is based in London and describes itself as 'chocolate extremists with a good dollop of fun'. I bought the single, large cheesecake, which is 450g and cost £3.99; this was on a par with ... Read the complete review
