Advantages: great taste
Disadvantages: none
Today is my birthday and I recieved a box of Guylian. I have opened them to sample and therefore I thought I would write a review on them.
Guylian are sea shell shaped chocolates which have a praline filling. They are described as Finest Belgian chocolate seashells.
Guylian are packaged in a very nice way. The size box I got as a gift was 250g. It contained 22 of the sea shell chocolates ( it has lost a few already, in the name of research!) The shells are packaged in a very nice box which has a lift up lid. Each of the shells sit in individual compartments of a black plastic tray. The lid of the box has a see through compartment so you can see the chocolates. The box has Guylian written in gold writing. You could get away without wrapping the box as its very nice alone.
The shells are shaped into different shaped shells. There are round, flat, fan and even a cute seahorse shapes. The outer layer of the chocolates come in two sorts. A milk chocolate mixed with white chocolate and a dark chocolate mixed with white. The different colours are very pretty in the box. When you open the box there is a lovely chocolate small. The shells look very nice and glossy. The chocolates are a delight to eat. First you bite through the lovely outer case of Belgian chocolate. Then there is a lovely praline. The praline is lovely and soft and very smooth. There is a subtle hazlenut flavour. The two textures of the chocolate work very well together. The great thing about these chocolates is that they are great to share with the whole family.
They have 546 calories for 100g of the chocolates.
I have seen different sizes of these chocolates in the supermarket. Unfortunately I do not have the price as they were a gift but thay are available from supermarkets.
Summary: nice birthday treat
