Advantages: Great taste, texture and appearance!!
Disadvantages: not enough of it
Guylian is a Belgian company, most famous for their sea shell chocolate, and are perhaps more recently known for their variety of sea shell chocolate bars and variations upon their traditional chocolate selection.
These are one of my first experiences of praline chocolate, and I must give it to them for making that experience magical!
~~~BOX DESIGN~~~
Guylian Sea shell chocolates are packaged in a box with a see through window at the top for you to admire their wonderfully crafter praline chocolates.
It has a simple packaging, with a tray for the chocolate directly inside and sealed on the outside.
~~~APPEARANCE, TASTE AND TEXTURE~~~
Each box of sea shell chocolates has a variety of different sea shapes, although each of them taste the same. We have:
-Prawns
-A variety of shells (mussel, clam and more)
-Seahorse
Every different shape, also has a different surface area, and volume, so in this way, perhaps they are different in a sense.
There is a slight harder shell which covers the praline, and this outer shell has milk and white chocolate in a marble pattern, which makes it look absolutely fantastic. Biting through this crunchy crust, we reach the praline which is incredibly smooth and indulgent.
I love the shell with the pointy top (sorry I don't know the name) as there is lots of this crusty crunchy layer, although all of them are equally great!
The textures are great, a mix of hard and soft, and they are not too sweet- PERFECT.
With a selection like this, the appearance of the chocolate adds a touch of specialty and originality, a final touch to make this box complete.
~~~PRICE~~~
They cost around £2-3 at most supermarkets.
~~~OVERALL~~~
I would recommend this to everyone who is looking for a box of praline chocolates. They are perhaps the icon or the original for these, and is definitely MY first experience eating pralines, and none other has topped them (Milka I <3 U pralines are close).
Writing this has made me want some, and I will definitely get a box or two over Christmas to enjoy!
Summary: Noone does pralines like Guylian
