Haagen Dazs (that is right it is spelt wrong on Dooyoo) is a brand of ice cream that was invented in 1961 by two Polish immigrants in New York. The name despite many assumptions doesn't actually mean anything, it was given the name for foreign branding and the aim was to make the product seem Scandinavian. The brand originally started with 3 flavours, chocolate, vanilla and coffee and has now expanded to many flavours (of which most won't be found in your supermarket in the UK). I first came across Haagen-Dazs Strawberry Cheesecake Flavour Ice Cream when one of my friends bought it round when we were having a DVD night and to be honest, nearly every time I settle down for the evening to watch a DVD, this ice cream comes out. About Haagen-Dazs Haagen-Dazs is unsurprisingly an American Brand and wasn't actually available to buy in the UK until 1987. Haagen-Dazs actually only started out with three flavours: vanilla, chocolate and coffee.
