Haagen Dazs (that is right it is spelt wrong on Dooyoo) is a brand of ice cream that was invented in 1961 by two Polish immigrants in New York. The name despite many assumptions doesn't actually mean anything, it was given the name for foreign branding and the aim was to make the product seem Scandinavian. The brand originally started with 3 flavours, chocolate, vanilla and coffee and has now expanded to many flavours (of which most won't be found in your supermarket in the UK). In 1976 the brand opened its first store in New York and has since franchised many stores throughout the USA and other countries. You may also find Haagen Dazs fruit sorbet, frozen yoghurt and ice cream bars, although they are not widely stocked in this country.

Strawberry Cheesecake Haagen Dazs is exactly what it says on the tin (or should I say tub), soft biscuit pieces with strawberry sauce in a very creamy ice cream. It comes in a 500ml cardboard tub and to be fair the ice cream is filled up to the brim. As soon as you open the tub you can immediately see the strawberry and biscuit pieces and the ice cream looks extremely creamy. Now if you are like me you will attempt at picking out the biscuit pieces and strawberry pieces separate to the ice cream like a big kid, although all of the ingredients go very well together. You won't be disappointed at the amount of strawberry and biscuit in the tub as with many other ice creams there is a lack of the extra ingredients, but you won't be able to take a scoop without having some on your spoon. The strawberry tastes exactly as I remember the strawberry sauce you would find on a cheesecake which is absolutely exquisite and the biscuit reminds me of shortcake which isn't a bad thing at all and although it has been sitting in ice cream for a while it is still crumbly as opposed to soggy.

Now I challenge anyone to find a better tasting ice cream to Haagan Dazs and if you think there is the you are just plain wrong :P. Stawberry Cheesecake is the perfect treat and I say treat very forcibly, I would by no means suggest this as an everyday necessity as you will be left penniless and would have a body similar to a great white whale! With a 500ml tub costing you around £3.78, I doubt this is something many people could afford everyday. The nutritional information is a killer as well as seen below is based on 100ml -

Now I imagine like most I am unable to open a tub of this without finishing it all (I hope I am not the only one!), which with the fat content is certainly not going to help you stay healthy, that is why I would only recommend this as an occasional treat.

I love this ice cream and would definitely say it is my favourite out there, I love strawberry cheesecake anyway and this ice cream just puts strawberry cheesecake on a new level. The only reason I am missing a star from this review is due to the price of it, I can't really complain about the fat content as you wouldn't expect much else from something this tasty and creamy! I would absolutely recommend this to any ice cream or cheesecake lovers out there, I don't think you will have any complaints (other than the price and fat content). If you really don't think strawberry cheesecake will be your cup of tea I would recommend trying one of Haagen Daz' other flavours as they are really in a league of their own when it comes to ice cream quality. I try and keep my Haagen Dazs consumption to a minimum if ever want my daughter to eat, but when I do have it I need some quiet time to enjoy this ice cream wholly. Gents this is a perfect treat for your partners as well and always goes down well.

Oh I almost forgot all of Haagen Dazs ice cream is suitable for vegetarians, which you won't find on the tubs!
