I purchased this 500ml tub of Haagen Dazs Belgian Chocolate for £4.25 from our local fish & chip shop recently when treating my fiance to a takeaway for tea after he had a hard day at work. The ice cream is provided in a cardboard round pot with a plastic lid and I believe the whole thing is recyclable (I throw it in the recycling bin anyway!). Once you open the lid you can smell the chocolate ice cream straight away and the smell is enough to make your mouth water before you've even got you spoon dug in! The ice cream is pretty hard if it's just come straight from the freezer so I would recommend leaving it out on the side for 10 ...

Those of you who have read recent reviews of mine will know I'm partial to a scoop or 2 of good quality ice cream, Haagen Dazs is a particular favourite, especially Belgian Chocolate. When you open the plastic lid and remove the flimsy plastic film you are presented with a mid brown colour chocolate ice cream with many dark brown flecks throughout. You can faintly smell the chocolate scent, so you have to lift the pot closer to your nose to inhale the rich Belgian chocolate aroma. After waiting a short while for it to melt and then taking a few 'hard to scoop' scoops into your bowl, you can then taste the creaminess mixed with the rich chocolate and ...

I love chocolate and to enjoy this ice cream you have to because unlike some so called chocolate ice creams, Haagen das Belgian chocolate ice cream is super chocolaty and super delicious. The ice cream itself whatever flavour is always perfect when it comes from Haagen das, it is smooth and very creamy and it never goes that frosted way no matter how long it is kept in the freezer (not long in my house). Belgian chocolate and the everyday chocolates you get do vary in taste with Belgian chocolate having a slightly more bitter taste but not as bitter as dark chocolate and the taste is emulated brilliantly in this ice cream.
