Advantages: Exquisite taste.

I love chocolate and to enjoy this ice cream you have to because unlike some so called chocolate ice creams, Haagen das Belgian chocolate ice cream is super chocolaty and super delicious.

The ice cream itself whatever flavour is always perfect when it comes from Haagen das, it is smooth and very creamy and it never goes that frosted way no matter how long it is kept in the freezer (not long in my house).

Belgian chocolate and the everyday chocolates you get do vary in taste with Belgian chocolate having a slightly more bitter taste but not as bitter as dark chocolate and the taste is emulated brilliantly in this ice cream. You get both the delicious strong chocolate taste when eating but it is also followed up by the lip licking delicious after taste that a good chocolate leaves in your mouth.

Haagen das is available in a few tub sizes all of which are fairly expensive, I usually buy mine in 500ml tubs which cost me £3.09 from Tesco but watch out for offers from both Tesco and Asda that can see these reduced as low as £2.00 per tub. Whatever the price it is a fabulous ice cream that cant in my opinion be beaten and is worth every penny asked for it.

Eating instructions.

Right you are now thinking I have gone mad, trying to tell you how to eat ice cream but I have in fact found the perfect method for eating Haagen das. When taken from the freezer you will find that this ice cream is brick hard and I have bent many a spoon trying to get it out the tub in that form. It is best left for a few minutes (a few only mind) then it will have softened enough to be scooped out.

I used to enjoy just eating this from the tub but found that after giving it a few minutes to soften then eating some from the tub that the bottom of the ice cream became runny, so the perfect method is to remove from freezer give approx three minutes to soften then scoop desired amount into a bowl and enjoy!

The bad point with this ice cream and any other for that matter is that if you eat too much of it you will end up the size of a small country. I think this warning is especially important with Haagen das because it is very, very calorific at the same time as being very, very addictive.

I am sure that wherever you shop you will find they sell some varieties of Haagen das of which there are many. I have a few favourites in the range some of which I might write about at a later date but for now I will leave you with the thought of this delicious chocolate offering!
