Haägen-Dazs ice cream is up there with the best (with the same hefty price of £3,86 per 500ml tub), but even though it is expensive I simply love the taste and buy it as an occasional treat. Haägen-Dazs is currently on special at Tesco so I treated myself to two tubs - any excuse is a good excuse!

One of the best flavours in the Haägen-Dazs range is Pralines & Cream, which is a flavour that is unique to Haägen-Dazs. It is a very sweet vanilla-based ice cream as it contains caramel swirls and caramelised pecan nuts. The delightful pecan nuts make this ice cream truly special in my eyes.

Even though the ice cream is quite creamy it still freezes quite solidly and needs about 5 minutes at room temperature before scooping it into a bowl. This is not an ice cream to serve with other desserts as its flavour needs to stand alone.

The packaging of Haägen-Dazs is classic and consists of a cardboard tub with a plastic lid. The main colour of the tub is dark red with gold detailing. On the lid and front of the tub is a picture of pecan nuts with blocks of caramel.

As with most ice cream Haägen-Dazs is not good for a low calorie diet. 100ml contains 242 calories and 15.1g of fat (saturates are not specified).
