Haribo gummy bears, Shall I tell you about gummy bears first or shall I tell you my Halloween tale first?

Halloween first I think.

Well as you know by now I have some tricks up my sleeve for any Halloween visitors I might have Haribo gummy bears are a treat I might hide in one of my tricks.

First I shall buy my bag of gummy bears probably from Tesco’s I have seen and bought them elsewhere too.
Then I shall make some jelly it does not matter what flavour of jelly or buy which manufacturer. Cheap Tesco value if it’s for spooks at the door.
Before the jelly sets I shall open the clear plastic bag of Haribo gold bears and pour them into the jelly. I think for hygiene’s sake I shall use some individual round shallow bowls
The jelly should set before you present this to your witch visitors.
Now when the spooky visitors arrive. I will present them with this bowl of jelly but no spoon ………………..

The ghouls will have to put their hands behind their backs and try to get a haribo gold bear out of the jelly with their teeth.
The witches will hold their faces as far away from the jelly as possible to get their teeth around a gummy bear, ho ho they will not succeed in getting a bear unless they get very messy I am afraid. So the witches and ghosts will get offered some kitchen towel to wipe the jelly of their faces.
This is the trick I might play on my evil ghostly visitors. You could use any unwrapped sweets for this game.

If you wished to use the bowl of jelly and haribo gold bears as an aid for hand co-ordination in your class what you could do is give the children a bowl of this jelly with the gold bears in it and they have to spoon the gold bears out of the jelly before they can eat the jelly. The children I work with have poor hand control and this game will give them an incentive to use their hands and control their arm movements. Some of my children may need some help doing this task.

Haribo gold bears are super to use if you are having a teddy bears picnic or a teddy bear themed party. Make good going home gifts for the party bag. They are good put on the icing to decorate little fairy cakes.
Now let me tell you about Haribo gold bears.

The beginning,
In 1920 Hans Riegel forms the Haribo Company and in 1922 the first gummy bears are made first distributed as the dancing bear. The bears made then looked a little different to the ones made now. In the 1960’s the gold bear was introduced

What a gold bear looks like
These gummy sweets are quite small. Obviously they are in the shape of a bear. (It’s quite cute) The shape has changed a little from the original

Packaging
These bears are packaged in a clear plastic cellophane bag the smaller bags having gold coloued top section of the bag and a gold bear printed onto it. These bags can be difficult sometimes to open with out using scissors.

Colours of gold bears
Well they are not all gold/ yellow, these bears come in packs which have multi coloured bear mix, I do not think it’s possible to buy single coloured gold bear packs. The colours of gold bears are White > pineapple, Green> strawberry, Yellow> lemon
Orange> orange, Red> raspberry

There are no blue bears as there are no blue flowers or plants that blue colour can be extracted from and haribo sweets are made from natural colours from plants and fruits.

Years ago bears used to have different colours as the colours were not pure from natural products. The modern colours are not strong but light colours.

Ingredients,

The flavours of Haribo gold bears are from fruits. The sweets also contain glucose syrup, sugar, water, gelling agent (gelatine), dextrose, citric acid, fruit concentrate, flavourings & glazing agent’s vegetable oil, beeswax and carnauba wax.
These bears are gluten free too.each gold bear contains about 15 calories

Taste and texture, smell

When you open a pack there is quite a fruity smell.
These gummy bears are quite soft to touch, they do keep their shape though, and they are soft to chew.
When you are chewing these sweets they do release a fruity flavour

Price and where to get them.
I am sure I have bought these sweeta at sweetstore / newsagents / general stores / supermarkets , but I can not remember which and tesco do not seem to stock them but I looked on line and

http://www.comparestoreprices.co.uk /party-supplies/ unbranded-sweet-haribo- goldbears-mini-pack.asp sell the mini bags for 26p each

http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos /ASIN/b000evose4/lockergnome /ref=nosim/ is selling the 500g bag for $13 I am sure I have seen these somewhere in the UK but where ? at http://www.chocolatebuttons.co.uk/erol.html #7072x0&& http%3A%252F%252F www.reviewcentre.com%252Fresources-61881.html a 3k bag costs £12.35.

Thanks for reading about haribo gold bears I may be able to get some for Halloween treats .

Summary: Theres gold in the jelly
