Advantages: Good strong flavour, chew that last a while, no artificial flavours

Disadvantages: Hard to track down

Big kid that I am, I have an awful weakness for jelly sweets, and cola bottles are one of my favourites. Of the different varieties of cola bottles out there, Haribo is by far the best quality.

Open a bag and the smell hits you right away - delicious cola. The sweets are nicely moulded into neat little bottle shapes, and fairly thick - I would say about 2mm thick each. That's a thickness that results in a nice chew that can keep you munching for a few minutes. The colours (brown and a yellowy clearness) are nicely seperated, with very little bleeding into each other. They've always tasted slightly different to me, with the brown tasting more cola-y, but that might be my imagination. They even have no artificial colours - what more could you want?

If you want a chew that lasts longer for these, I've found it helps to put them in a fridge - that stiffens them up a bit.

You can usually get a 200g bag for about £1. The only problem is they're getting increasingly hard to find. Despite stocking other Haribo sweets, Tesco doesn't seem to sell them any more and I'm reduced to tracking them down in little newsagents.

Summary: Best cola bottles out there

Nice review. I like the way you've described the colours connect ("Bleeding"). xx
