Advantages: Good Value, tasty sweets...

Disadvantages: See review...

Any regular readers of my reviews will be aware by now of the fact that I have a huge sweet tooth. Massive in fact. Because of this, I buy lots of different sweeties and chocolates on a regular basis.

One of the most recent victims to be purchased by me was the Haribo 'Super Mix' which is provided in bright red packaging with a see through panel on the front of the bag so that you can quite clearly see the types of sweeties that are contained in the packet.

The mix is indeed a varied one and the bag of sweets contains different coloured 'jelly' sweets that are half jelly and half white foam. These are mostly in the shape of frogs, but there is the odd one that is shaped into something else... I'm not sure what to be honest! These half-and-half sweets in the bag are very sweet and have a fruity taste to them. I find them to be absolutely delicious!

The bag also contains white 'milk' bottles which are also of a slightly foamy consistency, though are still chewy, and have a sweet and quite mild milky taste to them. All of these little bottle-shaped chews are white in colour. Of all the sweets in the Super Mix, these little bottles are my least favourite as I find them to be quite bland in comparison to the other sweets contained in the mix. I usually always leave these till the end of the bag!

My favourite of all the different sweets contained in the Super Mix though, is the little jelly babies that are contained within it. These have quite a hard outer 'shell' and are again very fruity tasting and very sweet. These also come in a variety of colours, from white and yellow to black and green, and I find them all to be delicious!

None of the sweets are over-powering in any way, and I find them all to be quite enjoyable in their own way. My partner and I often share a bag of these sweeties when we are watching a movie or going to the cinema and they are ideal for this as they offer a great choice of sweet when we are eating them.

The packaging is clearly aimed at kids, as there is a bright yellow-coloured teddy bear on the front of the packaging, who seems to be bopping about on one of those 'space hopper' type toys (It's definitely a bear and not a little boy, as shown in the picture on the Dooyoo page). There is also a statement on the front of the bag which proudly informs me that these sweets contain 'no artificial colours'.

The 225g bag of Haribo Super mix cost me 50 pence recently thanks to a special offer in our local Asda, although the usual price is around a pound.

The nutritional information on the reverse of the package informs me that these sweets are gluten and nut free, so if you suffer from these food allergies, these may well be worth checking out!

There is also information that tells me that 100g of these sweets will provide me with 344 calories and 0.2g of fat. The sweets are not suitable for vegetarians due to the gelatine contained in them.

I would highly recommend this offering from Haribo and if you haven't tried it before I would say that the Super Mix is one of the nicest 'mixes' from the Haribo range. I am going to award it four stars, with one knocked off because I find that the little milk bottles don't quite cut it with me...

Other than that though, this mix is brill! :-D

Summary: A brilliant Mix for kids and adults alike! :-D
