Advantages: Taste great.

Disadvantages: May be too chewy for some.

Haribo seem to be the Marilyn Monroe of the sweetie industry. They have a whole array of different chewy delights that take up a vast majority of the supermarket confectionary aisle. They find the worlds most loved jellies, make an amazing version of them and pop them in a bag for us to scoff our faces with. I love most of the varieties that Haribo have come up with and these Strawbs are no exception.

These Strawbs are basically big, flat jellies in the shape of a strawberry. They are red all over apart from they have a green top which is meant to resemble the leafy part of a strawberry. They are twice the size of a normal jelly sweet and you can expect to get around 25-30 sweets in a bag. The bag costs around £1 but I like to buy them when they are on offer.

When you open the bag, straight away you can smell the strawberry flavouring that has been added to them. They never fail to make me salivate like a dog and I have to start eating them straight away.

The thing about these sweets is the fact that they are so much bigger than any other jelly sweet so I always feel like I'm getting more for my money. Each one always takes me a few bites to get through before I move onto the next one which is great as the bag will last me longer than many other sweet that I buy.

When you bite into one of these then be prepared to do some serious chewing. They really are very sticky and chewy once they become moist and I will warn all of you people with bad teeth to stay away. I consider myself to have very good, strong teeth but even I struggle. As I chew these things my jaw sometimes get locked together almost as if I have a mouthful of superglue. This may sound like a lot of hard work for some of you and it is but the taste makes it all worth while.

Haribo have really hit the nail on the head when it comes to the flavour in these sweets. I think they are the best strawberry taste that I have had in a long time and although I'd be lying if I said that they taste like a real strawberry, they do come quite artificially close.

I always thought that it would be nice if the green tops had a lime flavour to them just to mix up the flavours a bit but over all these are really great. You may not like them if you want a bit of variety and there are times when I don't choose them because of this reason but sometimes they just hit the spot. I think Haribo should add them to there Starmix.

Summary: Haribo have done it again.
