Advantages: very, very good taste, giant strawbs available too, well priced
Disadvantages: only one pack size available
These are by far my favourite sweets that I have ever tried. Although unfortunately not everywhere stocks them. Haribo first started in 1920, although Strawbs kicked off a while later. What Strawbs are is a replica strawberry in the form of a jelly sweet. Personally, I think they taste unbelievable, and I have reason!:)
Taste
---------
Strawbs taste awesome, fantastic, out of this world, words can't describe them. You get the point. Unlike similar sweets trying to take on the strawberry taste, Strawbs hit the target the cleanest. Instead of trying to go straight at the strawberry taste, Strawbs take some of the vividness of the favour out and replace it with jelly. As you will probably know, sweets that take on a complete strawberry taste don't taste too nice. I would even go as far as saying they are the best tasting product in the Haribo range. Its just unfortunate that more places don't stock them.
Appearance and Price
------------------------------
As you can see from the picture, a Strawb is a rather small replica of a strawberry. They are about 1.5cm in height and around a centimetre in width. I know this sounds small, although there are lots in a pack, again, see the picture. If you are looking for slightly bigger strawbs, some dedicated sweet shops stock the giant ones. These cost around 5p each but are about 10x the size. In terms of pack sizes, Strawbs only come in the 1 size which equates to about a medium pack of Haribo Starmix. Unfortunately, I found that they aren't available everywhere, although I always tend to find them in Morrissons, other big supermarkets may well stock them too. If you do find them, I think they cost around £1 a bag. Which is not bad considering the taste and quantity that is inside them.
So overall, Strawbs taste amazing, really really amazing. The price is decent too and look out for those giant Strawbs, there twice as good!
