Advantages: Nice sour flavor
Disadvantages: Loads of sugar
I have a massive sweet tooth and one day whilst doing my shopping I fancied treating myself so off to the sweet section, after having a good look a bag of Haribo Tangfastics caught my eye and as they where on offer (only £1 for a 175g bag) I decided to give them a go.
After I got home and packed the shopping away I opened the bag and dove in. The bag has various jelly shaped sweets inside (Crocodiles, cherries, coke bottles and a dummy) the sweets are soft jellies with a sugary type coating which gives them a sour flavor. These are not the sourest sweets I have had (I tend to find the one you get in cinemas the best) this means you can eat quite a few of them without your mouth going funny. The sourness does not last that long, once you have sucked the coating off you are left with quite a pleasant juicy jelly sweet.
I think the cherries have to be my favorite; they seem to be that bit tangier than the other sweets. The crocodiles tend to get left till last; I'm not 100% sure about the foam part on the back of them, I would rather they all be just jelly.
The packet is bright orange and red with pictures of crocodiles, coke bottles etc (representing the sweets inside) on the front which I would imagine attracts the children quite well, it has the Haribo name quite large across the top with Tangfastics just below in bright yellow and green, it also has a transparent section so you can what sweets are inside.
These sweets have no artificial colours, are gluten free, nut free, milk free and soya free, they do contain a lot of sugar so not to great for your teeth. A typical 40g serving provides 136 calories, 2.5g of protein, 31.3g of carbohydrates (24.0g of which are sugar), 0.1g fat, 0.1g fibre a trace of sodium and salt.
I absolutely love these sweets and tend to treat myself to them quite a lot now and the best thing of all is my other half can't stand them so I can actually have a packet of sweets in the house all to myself.
Prices on these pack vary from shop to shop, the cheapest I have seen them is £1 which I think is a very reasonable price and the most expensive I have seen them is £1.50, which I don't think is to bad it's a average price for the size of bag you get.
Summary: Ideal for kids and adults
