Advantages: Delicious, Sweet, Tangy, Nice Flavours, Addicting
Disadvantages: Extremely High In Sugar
Haribo produce a variety of different sweets but I have to say the Tangtastic variety is my favourite as they have such a sweet and tangy taste. They come in a 300g packet, which will set you back around £1.32, available at Tesco or Sainsburys. You can also pick them up at other smaller supermarkets in the sweet sections as they are quite widely available.
The packet is orange with a large white, bold Haribo logo at the top. Below is the tangtastics logo, which is in yellow font with a green border. There is a transparent part of the packet below so you can see through to the sweets and make your own judgement of whether they look nice or not. They don't look that appealing as they are literally covered in sugar.
They come in different shapes and sizes. Each sweet is either a fruit flavoured one or foam one. The foam ones have a soft white side to them but the other side is fruit. The fruity ones are covered in sugar and have a really sweet and tangy taste. They just taste wonderful and give you a lot of energy - I remember buying a pack for my Duke of Edinburgh trek. They are really addicting but I am sure all the sugar is no good for your teeth and health. They have the following nutritional information:
Nutritional Information / 100g
--------------------------------------
energy: 1446 kj
kcal: 340 kcal
protein: 6.3g
carbohydrate: 78.3g
fat: 0.2g
saturated fat: 0.1g
fibre: 0.5g
As you can see, there is an enormous amount of carbohydrates in these, pretty much all of which is pure sugar. They are terribly bad for your sugar levels and too much could make you diabetic if you had these on a regular basis. This is only for 100g too, so multiply these values by 3 for a whole packet's worth. However, the carbohydrates are a good energy source for runs or long treks. I would recommend trying them as they are just so tasty and addicting!
