Up until recently I have bought Tesco's own brand jam but when I saw Hartley's Strawberry Jam was cheaper one day because it was on special offer I decided to give it a try. After trying this jam I have now been converted and on my most recent trip to the supermarket I bought Hartley's Strawberry Jam again. We only really use jam for toast, sandwiches and as a filling for cakes but you still want a product that is nice and tasty. Hartley's have been making jam since 1871 and they are the one brand that springs to mind when you think of jam. They not only make strawberry but also raspberry, blackberry, blueberry, gooseberry and apricot. The best thing about ... Read the complete review

I do like jam but we have it mainly in the house for my 6 year old who will have sandwiches with nothing else. I normally buy shop own brand but had run out and with Tom needing butties in a packed lunch for a half term day out, I had to send hubby out for emergency jam. He came back with a nice pot of Hartleys strawberry. I can't remember the last time I bought this brand but I realise now what I've been missing and I've had jam on my toast every morning this week. I've really noticed the difference in that this is simply so much nicer. I've been denying us all for so long! The jar contains 340 g of really lovely jam, made up of 45 g of fruit. I love the ... Last year on a trip up the east coast of Australia, my friend and I survived almost entirely on jam on toast in our camper van. This was for two reasons, firstly we had an abundance of 'acquired' little pots and packets of jam from various hotels we had stayed in during the first few weeks of our trip (thinking ahead!) and secondly it was quick and easy to make in a camper van and quite filling too. Some days we had jam on toast for breakfast, lunch and dinner. As such I had rather put myself of jam on toast by the time I came back to the UK and it wasnt until the other week when I bought some jam to make a victoria sandwich with that I realised it is still a ... Hartley's Best Strawberry Jam..... Hartley's is a well known company in Jam products and has been around for a good few years. The classic of jams is indeed the strawberry flavour and this is of course very favourite. I have only recently started buying jam again because I realised that it is a perfect sandwich filling for Jack to eat. Hartley's best strawberry jam is made with 45 grams of fruit per 100 grams. In one standard jar you get 340 grams of product. There is a smaller jar available to buy and this is probably around two thirds of the size and about two thirds of the price. This 340 gram jar cost me around the £1.50p ... Read the complete review

I don't really eat much jam but sometimes just plain butter or margarine isn't good enough when you're munching on a hot crumpet. Personally the best way I know of finding out how good a jam is, is by the sound it makes when you undo the lid! It also suggets that it's going to be a fresher taste and much to my pleasure it did make a nice pop when I did this. It's in a glass jar with a nice little heart like shaped label on the front-you can't really mistake it for any other brand because of this. The Hartley's jam is actually filled practically right to the top so you know you're getting your moneys worth right from the start. Although it doesn't ... Read the complete review
