I love white chocolate so when I spotted a pack of white choc chip cheweee bars on offer in Asda I bought a pack. Harvest cheweee bars come in a cardboard box showing a picture of a lunch box on the front. I guess that means these are aimed at children. Each box contains 9 cereal bars. On opening the box I was a little disappointed to see how small each bar was. However as there were 9 in each pack I reasoned I could always munch two!

On opening the bar I could see lots of quite large white chocolate chips. There were also lots of chunky looking cereal bits on view. On reading the information on the back of the box I see that these bars contain oats and wheat so they do provide some fibre. However I you would expect these are also very high in sugar! In fact each contains 6.2 grams! If you are concerned with the calories you consume then each bar will give you 91 calories. Keep in mind that these are very small bars too!

Next to the all important taste test. On taking a bite I could instantly taste the white chocolate so was very happy! I could also detect the taste of the oats. There was no after taste as with some cereal bars I have tried. In short these tasted very nice in my opinion. The only down side is that they are gone in just a few bites.

I paid £1 in Asda for a box of 9 bars. I think they usually retail for around £1.60 and at that price I wouldn't buy them. They are not a healthy option and it does annoy me that they the marketing is clearly aimed at children. However as an occasional treat they are lovely!

Summary: cereal bars

Well covered here. These are fab bars and so handy to have with a cup of tea/ taking a well deserved break.

I remember when they first came out as I was attracted to the "free" plastic box they came in. Sadly they only come in cardboard boxes now : (
