Advantages: Soft and tastes great

Disadvantages: Small in size

A little while a go I was starving (nothing new there!) after walking to my mother- in- laws so she gave me one of these chewee bars to fill a gap. I really enjoyed it as it was the chocolate chip variety and I will eat pretty much anything that contains chocolate. I haven't had any since that day, because I would probably eat the whole box in one go and I'm trying to diet so it wouldn't help my weight loss. However the other day I bought some on approvedfood.co.uk as they were extremely cheap. Unfortunately they didn't have the chocolate chip flavour so I had to settle for these toffee ones instead.

These bars used to be known as Harvest bars and are made by the famous porridge company, Quaker Oats. They come in boxes of 6 or 9 and are often on offer in supermarkets. The core of the bar is made up of cereal pieces and each one is 22g. Each one contains 3.1g of fat and 5.9g of sugar

The bars are individually wrapped and come in quite an eye catching plastic wrapper. One thing that is apparent with most things these days is the fact that it's quite small and thin. When you open the wrapper the bar is a nice yellow colour and is very bumpy with the bits of cereal and toffee.
Like I have already mentioned, I really enjoyed the chocolate chip ones but I wasn't expecting to enjoy these as much. I was surprisingly surprised (lol) as I found these much more appetizing and they really managed to calm my sweet tooth. The bar was very sweet and it tasted a lot like toffee popcorn which I happen to love! Unfortunately though the bar was gone in abut three or four bites because it was tiny so I ate another one. Thankfully I did eat these on my 'munchies' day so I didn't feel that I was letting myself down. Although they aren't really low in fat, they aren't as high as a normal chocolate bar so could be a bit of an alternative for me in the future.

The thing I find with most cereal bars is the fact that they are so hard that you almost break a tooth trying to eat one. This bar is so soft and chewy that you don't have that problem at all although some may find that it plays havoc with their fillings! The bar sticks to your teeth and melts in your mouth. I have to say though that the roof of my mouth was a bit sore after eating the two bars at once. I think it grazed it! Serves me for being greedy!

Over all this flavour was lovely and I will be tying the other three flavours that are available at some point in the future. I would definitely recommend that you give these a try although one may not be enough for you!

Summary: A really nice cereal bar and I can't wait to taste the other flavours
