I bought a tin of Alphabetti spaghetti as a store cupboard stand by for when I get a visit from the grandchildren. I served it to them when I had an unexpected visit from them at meal time last weekend. Adrian enjoyed his spaghetti and did comment that some of it was the same shapes as the letters in his name. Alphabetti spaghetti was first available from Hienz in 1940 and then in 1990 Hienz decided to stop producing it. In 2005 Heinz brought back this product. I am not sure if the ingredients are the same. They looked and tasted the same to the ones I used to eat in the 1960’s. Sadly I threw the tin away after we had used it so I can not be sure. . ... When it comes to food my 3 year old daughter can be one of the fussiest eaters out there. Just to keep meal-times fun I have tried serving up varieties in the past. Some few weeks back while shopping at Tesco she showed me this small tin of Heinz Alphabetti pasta/shapghetti in sauce, saying she had it at school and could she have it again. I have to mention here that I don't generally buy tinned ready to eat food just because I personally don't like the tinny/artificial taste and can be very choosy and buy only that what I have already tasted at someone elses house. So I just bought the small tin (200gms) for 38p. There is a larger 400gms tin too at 50p or ... Read the complete review

Alphabetti Spaghetti has long been a store cupboard staple for those of us with children. In fact, I vividly remember being served up Alphabetti on toast for lunch at my Nan's house when I was very small. My 2.5 year old daughter, like most other toddlers, loves spaghetti and particular those in shapes. She will NOT eat own brand spaghetti - believe me, we have tried them all! Alphabetti is great for toddlers, as it holds it shape really well and is easier to pick up on a spoon when you aren't very experienced at it, than some other spaghetti - notably Hoops. Alphabetti has the distinctive Heinz tomato sauce, which is rich, tasty and ... Read the complete review

Heinz Alphabetti Pasta shapes are yet another delicious creation of Heinz who have bough us many delights such as baked beans and tomato sauce. Heinz has a reputation of making very good quality tinned food. When bout Alphabetti I wasn't disappointed, it lives up to the Heinz standard very well. They are very simple to cook, you just have to open the tin, tip them out into a bowl and put them in the microwave for 2 - 3 minutes. Although you may also like to make some toast to go with them or if you're serving them as part of a main meal you could also cook sausages and mashed potato or as I used to have as a little kid with fish fingers yum. I am definitely a little kid at heart, and I just love different shapes of spaghetti - Disney Princess, Thomas the Tank Engine - you name it, I'm there! I went through a phase a couple of weeks ago of having mini cans of spaghetti for lunch, and one of the ones I picked out was Heinz's Alphabetti Spaghetti. The reason for this is because I love words (in fact, my manager suggested I write copy with it, which scared me a lot, but also intrigued me). The spaghetti tastes just the same as any other spaghetti - it's pretty much just a gimmicky marketing ploy to excite kids or mislead their parent into thinking they can make food educational. So the ... Read the complete review
