... proportions were wrong. Yet it also true that the full-size 'traditional' bean tin contains too much food for one sitting. I decided therefore that it was well worth giving these a spin. The outcome was pleasantly surprising. I had been letting my assumptions and my pride get in the way of the fact that a smaller portion of beans is often very suitable. I would therefore recommend these pots as a useful addition to any kitchen cupboard. The contents of the pots is of course the same quality Heinz product we are all familiar ...more

Beans, Beans are good for your heart, the more you eat, the more you....uuummmm........don't wish to eat anymore because you've realised that you've had an adequate sufficiency. Yes, yes I'm sure that's how that rhyme goes, Anyway, to the review....... Beans are a classic British staple, about 95% of the worlds beans are consumed right here in England. Beans are very versatile and can accompany anything from breakfasts to waffles to a snack on their own. They are said to be a super food, meaning you could survive in a suprisingly healthy state if you ate nothing but these bad boys morning noon and night. They are high in fibre, high in protein and ...  Read the complete review

I love baked beans and Heinz were the best until they got even better! They started selling their lovely product in microwavable pots with 200g of beans per portion to make it easier and less messy to serve their juicy beans :) Great for snacking as an accompaniment for meals these are sold as '4 Snap Pots', all in rectangle green pots that are cellophane sealed to keep them fresh. You can usually get these with a best before date of a couple of months ahead and they are fine stored in a cupboard... Advertised as low on sugar and low fat plus high in fibre each portion counts as one of your five a day in terms of recommended ...  Read the complete review

I will be the first to admit that where there is a suitable "value" or own brand product available, I will use it in order to keep my shopping budget down as much as possible. As part of this way of shopping, I believe I have already written about how wonderfully good value Tesco own brand tins of baked beans are. But at the moment, Tesco own brand beans have been relegated to second best, as I am buying Heinz Snap Pots. Basically, these are individual microwave portion of Heinz baked beans, sold in batches of four. Each pot is contains 200g of beans, so the same as one of the small tins of beans you can buy, or half a full size ...  Read the complete review

I have always had a problem with baked beans. I live alone and so if I wanted beans on toast, or beans on the side of my meal, I would have to open up a whole can. I would use half of it at the most, and the rest would go in my fridge in a Tupperware. Because I am not a massive fan of beans and only like to eat them occasionally as a snack when I'm in a hurry, or as an accompaniment to certain specific foods, it would generally be a while before I fancied any again and by that time the ones left languishing in the fridge would have gone off and have to be thrown away. Obviously this was a big waste of food and money. So I was very pleased when Heinz brought out their new ...  Read the complete review

Everyone who has heard of Heinz, will associate them with one thing - beans! The famous advert 'Heinz Meanz Beanz' has been hammered into us through our TVs for many years, and to be honest, Heinz are the kings of the bean - I've really never tasted any that are better! Heinz is a long-running company, and has been supplying us with our tins of beans for many years. So, in order to bring themselves into the 21st Century, they have introduced something new - the Heinz Beanz Snap Pots. So, what's different about these beans to the old-fashioned tinned ones? Well... erm... nothing! The beans are the exact same quality, still in that lovely thick ...  Read the complete review
