A few months ago I had a bowl of soup, what I think was my first bowl of soup of the year, and all of a sudden I found that I became addicted. Rather peculiar, as I have never been overly excited about soup, though I found myself buying a lot of soup after that! I have since then had the chance to try quite a lot of different varieties of soups, one of which is the Heinz Big Soup Beef and Vegetable.
I must say, the Heinz Big Soup range in general is fantastic. I have yet to try a tasteless product in the range, and was looking forward to trying the Beef and Vegetable product. It comes in a tin of 400g, like most others. You can recognise it against other products because of its green label, and delicious looking image of the soup on the front. The 'Big Soup' logo can be seen underneath the 'Heinz', ensuring you of the top quality brand you are getting.
The soup takes about two and a half to three minutes to cook in the microwave, depending on how strong your machine is, stirring it half way through. Once you remove the cooked soup from the microwave, you will smell instantly the delicious meaty soup aroma, a very tempting scent that will capture you immediately. After letting it cool down for a minute or so, there is nothing left to do but eat.
Thankfully, this is just as thick and as luscious as the other Big Soup produccts. The soup itself is quite meaty and simply delicious, and the bits of beef are nice and soft, not too chewy at all. Even the vegetables are quite soft and incredibly tasty. I wasn't sure what I would find in this, but I found potatoes and carrots, which were incredibly wonderful and provided that extra chunky style to the soup.
Now we all know soup is considered to be a healthy option, compared to say chips or cheesy pasta, but as this was quite thick I wasn't too sure how well it would do. Though I discovered that each tin contains just short of 200 calories, which I think is a wonderful amount. It's perfect for filling you up, and will warm you through the winter months too. It is definitely worth the calories, and will not damage your waist line!
This is not the cheapest soup, at around 80p a tin. However it is available from most supermarkets, such as Tesco and Asda, and if you get the change to then it is most certainly worthy a try. It is simply delicious, and healthy too!
