Well lets start at the beginning then, shall we? It all began one day in Tesco when first I saw it. Purple it was, and that little voice calling me over, pleading with me to put it in my trolley. Surely I should have resisted, tried harder to fight off the temptation. But, being weak natured, I gave in. Looked both ways and slipped it in the trolley, tucking it beneath my copy of the sun. At the checkout, I refused to make eye contact with the staff. They thought me naughty, I’m sure, but I didn’t care, it was mine. I rushed home, narrowly avoiding an awkward conversation with my mum, and went straight to the kitchen. How was I to turn this purple can into ... Read the complete review

Every Sunday we have a roast dinner and as a treat we always have a dessert after. Sometimes we have cheesecake, sometimes ice cream desserts but when it gets colder a nice hot pudding with custard is a favourite of ours. My husband and kids prefer Jam Roly Poly but my all time favourite is chocolate pudding and in particular Heinz Chocolate Sponge. The pudding comes in a 310g tin and costs 89p. It has a purple wrapper around it with a picture of the pudding which itself looks really appealing. I was annoyed because they have stopped selling this in Tesco so I now buy it from Farmfoods. Heinz Chocolate Pudding is really easy to cook, you can ... Read the complete review

I'm a huge fan of chocolate pudding, and it's even better when served hot with 'Cadburys' chocolate sauce, just like this one. A real treat to eat, even if it is a little overindulgent of me. Firstly I'd just like to make a quick comment on the packaging, yes it looks enticing with the bold purple label and fancy swirls, but really does it have to be sold in a tin? This packaging could be easily transferred onto a different material; I'd much rather see this type of a product served in a plastic pot, so 'Heinz' and 'Cadburys' help do there bit for the environment. Anyway, back to the goodness that is this delicious hot chocolate pudding. Once you ... Read the complete review

I can remember having chocolate sponge pudding from a tin when I was a child, and when I spotted this 'Heinz taste of home indulgent chocolate pudding' I decided to give it a try, giving that I seem to be on some sort of retro food trip at the moment - tinned beans and sausages or spaghetti hoops anyone? This is basically a chocolate sponge pudding which is topped with a Cadbury's milk chocolate sauce. The pudding comes in a tin with a dark purple label, and a picture of the finished product on the front. You can cook it on the hob or in the microwave, and I chose to microwave it, as it's over half an hour quicker! You do need to open ... Read the complete review

I found this little chocolate pudding last week whilst looking for something to satisfy my chocolate cravings. I had seen them before but the new packaging drew me in and i had to find out if they tasted as good as they looked! The Packaging: The packaging is different now to the one shown in the above picture. It is still in a can but now has a lighter purple label with the phrase "heinze, taste of home, indulgent chocolate pudding" written in brown "chocolatey" writing. There is also a small picture or the pudding. The Cooking: This sponge can be cooked either in the microwave by removing from the can and covering ... Read the complete review
