I love soup and usually make my own. However I also buy Baxter's and sometimes Covent Garden as an alternative. Last week in Waitrose I spotted a tin of Heinz classic cream of chicken soup reduced from 65p to just 20p as the tin was a bit bashed. Now every woman has her price and the price ticket persuaded me to give this a try. Heinz are of course a multi national company and there can be few who have not come across their numerous products. The company was founded in 1869 by Henry Heinz in the USA. Heinz first sold Horseradish and other products quickly followed. The soup. ******** The tin has a ring pull to open; I like this feature as I find it ... Read the complete review

Heinz Classic Cream of Chicken Soup By now it is possible that everyone has tried this soup. I prefer home made soups but always have a can or 2 of this in the cupboard as a standby, it reminds me of my childhood (it still tastes exactly the same) and is warm, comforting and tasty. It can be obtained from most supermarkets and often the smaller shops too and comes in 3 different sizes - 300g, 400g, 800g. A 400g tin costs around £0.65 but these soups can often be found on offer. I tend to stock up then and stash them for cold days or quick lunches. It has a creamy taste and small chunks of chicken through it. My only suggestion for ... Read the complete review

Heinz Classic Cream of Chicken Soup I have read a few reviews of this product on here and the overall impression seems to be mixed. Soup from a tin is never going to be as good as home made, but it can also be quick, convenient and a good stand by to keep in the cupboard. Right now, I am suffering from flu. When I say suffering, I mean SUFFERING! To the extent that I am struggling to do much more than blow my nose and groan loudly from time to time. As my other half is at work, I am also resigned to having to look after myself until he gets in each day (all together now - awwww!). I don't have much of an appetite and certainly don't have the ... I am actually multi-tasking at this very instant: eating (or should that be drinking?) this soup while typing this review. Now, I do feel that I should point out that I am not a great fan of soups, so perhaps I am not the best judge. I do have to be in the mood for them and I do prefer them to be more like a stew than liquid. Why, I hear you ask, am I actually having Heinz's Cream of Chicken Soup? Funnily enough, you have caught me on one of those rare days when I actually feel interested in soup. ~~~~ So what is the soup? ~~~~ Heinz states that it is a "long standing favourite made using our time honoured recipe". In my ... Read the complete review

When I was a little girl, I used to love Heinz cream of chicken soup. I remember coming home from school for lunch and being delighted to find a plate of this soup with some buttered bread to dip into it. I rarely buy tinned soup these days, the exception being Heinz cream of tomato soup which is a real comfort food but my daughter eats tinned soup at her dads house and asked me to pick her up a can. I ended up grabbing the chicken soup from the cupboard by accident today instead of the tomato and only realising once the can was open so I was stuck with eating it for lunch whether I liked it or not! I was surprised at how pale and runny the soup was when I ... Read the complete review
