Through the winter months I find that a lot of the time I am looking for something hot for lunch and due to this I eat a lot more soup and Vegetable is one of my favourites. A bit of history I have never really given much though to the brand Heinz and where they came from but having checked it out on the Heinz website (www.heinz.co.uk) I was actually surprised to find that this was founded by two American gentleman way back in 1869 and their first product was a glass jar of Horseradish which was grown in their garden, how charming. There are also ...

It's not something I would recommend everyday though as you can't beat a meal made with fresh vegetables which will always be a source of far more nutritious content. Tinned food often contains a lot of salt in the form of monosodium glutamate and Heinz vegetable soup is no exception. There is also a lot of sugar added. The total sugar content is over 12g per tin. On the plus side there are no GM ingredients, artificial colours or artificial preservatives. The vegetable soup from Heinz is a popular choice in my household. ...
