Advantages: Nice taste

Disadvantages: None

Heinz are probably the most recognisable brand when it comes to ready made tinned soup and while they have some competition from the own label brands and a few upmarket brands like Covent Garden Company and the like they still manage to produce pretty good quality consistent soups.

Their classic vegetable soup is one of my favourite and is excellent as a winter warmer lunch alongside some nice crusty bread. The soup itself has a quite thick consistency to it an it is crammed with vegetable chunks in it. There are quite large and firm pieces of potato while there are some equally large chunks of carrot although these are a little soft as well as what I think is turnip or parsnip. In adition there are green peas and chick peas alongside some traces of leeks.

This is a very substantial soup and has a lovely taste with all of the vegetables mixed in. It s easy to prepare as it only takes a couple of minutes to heat through on the hoib or you can use the microwave.

Overall this is a good quality soup and I find half a can is more than enough for me if I eat it with some bread however my other half devours a whole can in one go.

Summary: Vegetable soup
