Advantages: Delicious , Cheap, It's Heinz

Disadvantages: None

Well following on from my recent glut of grub reveiws I thought I'd stick to what I know best. Ok, ok, so I’m simply bored and have nothing better to do with my time.
Anyway, I went down to my Nan’s today to help myself to some nice dinner, however, the heartless woman decided to go out for the day leaving me to suffer the realms of starvation, I know, aren’t I badly done to?

Poor old me had to then trek back up to my dingy little home and rummage through my dusty cupboards for some form of nourishment and that’s when I came upon a tin of this.

Heinz cream of tomato soup, my very favorite.

‘What’s that’ I hear you all say?

‘No chicken involved?’

Simple, NO! Seeing as the Chicken spent half of last night sucking on something that made her lie back and groan with pleasure, and NO, I don't mean that, she had a cherry lolly okay? My new favorite soup is tomato, so there.

~~~~~~PACKAGING~~~~~~
The tin can label is a dull gray colour and has a 3-D fluffy look to it, wait a minute, sorry, after wiping away the 12 months worth of dust, I can now confirm that the label is a blinding red colour, with a large black and white Heinz logo and the name of the product, and a border drawing of some rather plump looking tomatoes.
Oh and it is smooth and shiny and not fluffy in appearance. <<cough cough>>
On the back of the tin is a paragraph boasting about how proud Heinz are of their product, yaa de yaa de yaa.
The 400g tin has a ring pull lid for easy opening as have all of Heinz’s tinned foods these days.
There is also a set of three ticks, which state that Heinz Tomato soup is suitable for Vegetarians, gluten free diets and contains no artificial stuff.
~~~~~~NUTRITION INFORMATION~~~~~~

Groan, typical Heinz, these nutrition bits are solely based on one serving (half a can)
More like one hundredth of
a serving.
Anyway, each HALF can contains 128 Calories and 7.2g of fat.
There is also 2 of the governments recommended 5 fruit and veg portions as well (per half can that is) Each can contains a massive 74% worth of real tomatoes just to make you all go WOOHOO!

~~~~~~COOKING INSTRUCTIONS~~~~~~
Microwave: Bang the soup in a dish, cover it and give it the full power blast for 2 minutes. Stir and blast for a further 2 minutes and scoff.
Or
Pour your soup into a pan and heat gently for a few minutes taking care not to burn the stuff. There, how simple is that?
~~~~~~PRICE~~~~~~

Well if you go to Morrisons, you can pick up most 400g tins of Heinz soups for about 43p and you can buy multipacks of 4 for approximately £1.65-ish. Sometimes though, if you are lucky enough, Morrisons do have the multipacks on BOGOF special offer, very handy if you need to stock up on 50 or so cans.

~~~~~~TASTE AND SMELL~~~~~~
Ok, when you first pour your can of Heinz tomato soup out it looks bright orange in colour but once warmed, the colour changes to a nice deep red.
It smells very tomato like (you don’t say?) and has a quite thick consistency.
Does it taste nice though?
The answer: YES!
One thing I hate is cheap tasting soup, (usually the kind bought from Netto’s or Lidl)
However, home made soups apart, you simply cannot beat Heinz in this department.
The soup is rich, tangy and full of flavor and coupled with a loaf of crusty bread, you are in heaven for the few minutes it takes you to devour.
<<<sob sob>>> My Nan isn’t home and I don’t have any crusty bread so I’m stuck with an old box of leftover Christmas bread sticks to dip into my lovely warm soup.
Snaffle! Umphle! They actually taste ok once you brush off the green fluff.
~~~~~~MY FINAL THOUGHTS~~~~~~

In my book, Heinz soups are fantastic in both taste and
value, and seeing as the Heinz Company was started in 1869, they are as well established a company, as you are likely to find. The new ring pull cans brought in a couple of years ago only make the product even more appealing, as you don’t have to faff about with those poxy tin openers anymore.
If soup is your thing, weather as a main meal or a quick and healthy snack then I recommend this one wholeheartedly.
