The kids love this one! Who would have come up with an idea for green ketchup? Only Heinz, that's who! And without losing any of the flavour that we all know and love. I must add though, the very bright green colour (although a favourite with my granddaughter whose favourite colour is - you've guessed it - green) does not do well in those recipes that I add ketchup too. Everything turns green. Sure it tastes the same but you still have to get over the "green eggs and ham" mentality. Food has to look appealing or people won't get to the taste! I remember trying this green version of the favoured Red tomato sauce on my son when he was just five years old. Not to much success he hated it and would not be convinced it was just like the red version only they used green tomatoes instead. He was not having any of it and bought the house down until I produced the usual Red bottle of the same brand which he adores even to this day he eats the red variety on every thing no matter what meal it is. I do draw a line to putting it on puddings though ugh. But No matter how I try even to this day he will not entertain the green variety although stricktly speeking it is the same thing. My three-year-old tries his hardest to hold a giggle in as he hands a dinner plate over to his daddy. “Your dinner daddy” he says, grinning from ear to ear. Daddy takes the plate, mutters a thank you and gets ready to tuck in to his well-earned dinner ..(In his opinion anyway!!!)
