Heinz Lentil Soup

Description: Manufacturer: Heinz / Type: Soup

Newest Review: ... Concentrated Tomato Puree, Modified Cornflour, Cornflour, Onions, Wheat Flour, Pea Fibre, Flavourings (contain Wheat, ... more

... Celeriac), Yeast Extract (contains Barley), Salt, Herb Extracts, Spice Extracts, Herbs, Spice This wasn't one of my favourite Heinz soups, the texture was good and it looked appealing but the slight aftertaste put me off and made me wish that I had selected another flavour. It was a quick, hot lunch and easy to prepare but not a flavour I will be buying again in a hurry....more

Premium Review Heinz Lentil Soup: Go mental for Heinz lentil. (290 words)

I am not big on tinned soups, I feel they lack quality and certainly the goodness you get from a pot of homemade soup, but that said I do often turn to a tin of soup for a quick snack rather than a packet of crisps or some other type of junk food when hunger sets in. Tinned soup for me had to be Heinz but recently I have tried a few others due to Heinz being so bloody expensive, it is an unbelievable 84p for a tin of Heinz soup in Tesco, compared to 52p for Granny`s and only 39p for Tesco`s own soup which is not half bad. I recently bought a few tins of Heinz in Asda though as they were doing 5 tins for £2 which is a great offer. Last night I sat ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Convenient and tasty - but tastes better with cheese! (562 words)

If you are like me and are usually on the go - you will find it handy to have a couple of tinned soups in your cupboard. The advantage of tinned soup is obviously the convenience factor. Minimum preperation and minimum effort is required to have a meal ready in a short space of time. ***Preperation** Heinz Lentil Soup has a ring pull lid, and if you have a microwave at work you can therefore take it along without having to worry about hunting out a can opener. Many supermarket own brands of soup do not come with a ring pull lid, so if this is an issue, it may be worth paying a little more for the Heinz brand. It will take about five ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Heinz Lentil Soup: None left for Mummy (739 words)

Holly, my 2 ½ year old daughter eats like a bird, which I find very hard to accept. Put it this way I am a very over weight mother, no longer obese since the shedding of two stone with my two weekly visits to the gym. I will tuck into anything and everything and clear the plate, she tucks in to start with, has about 5 mouthfuls of breakfast, lunch or dinner, then that is it, pushes the plate away and waits for a yoghurt or something sweet. Our recent two week holiday to Turkey was no exception, in fact she was eating a lot less than she normally does, I think the hot weather may have had something to do with that. We visited a Turkish restaurant on the resort ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Winter Warmer (485 words)

I am a vegetarian and this Heinz Lentil Soup is my favourite in their 'Classic' range of soups. I often find this hard to come by in my local supermarket in the summer months, possibly because it is considered to be a 'winter warmer' kind of soup. Availability wise though, the 400g sized tin (priced at around 60p) is sold by most supermarkets. The red label on the tin is branded with the gold Heinz logo and there is a picture of the soup on the front of the tin which is an accurate depiction of the way it looks. The soup is described as being a "thick, hearty blend of red lentils, carrots and potatoes". Other information on the label includes ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Heinz Lentil Soup: Eat lentils.... but don't taste them! (1039 words)

When it comes to soup I'm a bit of a connoisseur really lol. Largely down to the fact I'm too lazy to actually cook anything and live on the stuff and bread products in general! So I eat soup alot and I always buy different one's and have no real preferance to a brand or a flavour, I simply buy whatever I fancy! I'm not vegetarian but I do like meat free options alot in my diet. I'm not a 100% comfortable being a carnivore so only eat stuff I don't want to live without like the occasional bacon and black pudding sandwich or a kebab when drunk lol The Packaging.... Well the soup comes in a 400g steel can with the usual Heinz red paper ...  Read the complete review
