The spirals are soft just like all tinned pasta but I like that these spirals are tightly wound like springs so the sauce clings nicely and inside each spiral a small amount of sauce had gathered. The spirals themselves are quite bland but they come alive within the sauce which is lovely and creamy with a nice robust cheese flavour that tastes surprisingly fresh for tinned cheese sauce. My friend has just left with her grandson and for his lunch I heated him up a tin of Heinz Mini Cheese Spirals that I bought from Sainsbury's for 55p for a little 200g tin. He is addicted to macaroni cheese so I assumed he would like this as well. He is one of those children who have to see you eating a little bit of his lunch before he will have any so even though I do not like cheesy sauces very much I ended up eating some of the spirals. It is very easy to prepare and I only had to heat it in a pan over a low heat for a few minutes to warm through. Browsing the tins on the shelf at Asda, my attention was cast across to a little tin, located near the childrens' pasta shapes and spaghetti options. Mounted on its green and silver label was a comic character of a little pasta spiral, with its own pair of teeny square glasses which looked as if they had been drawn on. Although it was obvious that this product was aimed at young children, I was in no way hesitant to pop the cheesy spirals into my trolley!
