... reducded ketchup next time as i decided i could put a price on my health after all I had my usual bowl (yes, bowl) of ketchup with my dinner than night, and disocvered of a few mouthfuls that it just wasn't ketchup to me. It was some fowl, artidifally sweet concotion that was ruining my dinner for me and leaving a horrible taste in my mouth. I immediately washed it down the sink and reverted back to Tesco's own tomato ketchup which is only 82p!! If you're rigid about diet/health conscious, this is for you, but...more

Premium Review Heinz Reduced Sugar and Salt Tomato Ketchup: Healthier Tomato Ketchup (722 words)

Having gone on a low salt diet to help lower my blood pressure and keep it down I was quite interested when I spotted that Heinz have introduced a reduced salt and sugar version of their Tomato Ketchup. I do like Heinz Tomato Ketchup and tend not to buy any other brand and, although I use it sparingly, I thought it might be helpful to try out the reduced salt version as it would help me to have some seasoning on my food without loading it with salt. I bought a bottle, took it home, and was quite keen to try it out, so I opened the squeezy bottle and squeezed some out on to a saucer to try it. On the other half of the saucer I squeezed out some of ...  Read the complete review

Ever since my son had his first taste of Tomato Ketchup when he was a young boy he's been addicted to the stuff and for years he had it on almost everything he ate! Well, as he's gotten a bit older he's gradually reduced his tomato ketchup intake, but I still need to have it in the house for when he needs it, plus hubby likes it on his burgers! When I was doing the weekly shop a couple of months ago in Tesco I was looking out for the best value option for ketchup (my boys aren't too fussy on which brand I buy so I usually just go for the supermarket brand) and the Heinz Reduced Sugar and Salt Tomato Ketchup was on offer so I thought I'd give it a ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Heinz Reduced Sugar and Salt Tomato Ketchup: Reduced Salt & Sugar Delicious Heinz Tomato Ketchup! (498 words)

Heinz is a name that I know and trust and have been using their products for as long as I can remember. Heinz Tomato Ketchup comes in many different bottle sizes and several different styles as well as being available made with organic tomatoes. The version that I am reviewing today is the Reduced Salt & Sugar variety which is ideal for those who are trying to watch their waistline or just enjoy the things in life they love whilst being healthy. I purchased a 550g plastic bottle of Heinz Tomato Ketchup from Sainsburys for £1.81 and this is a fairly reasonable price although it is quite a bit more expensive than the equivalent size of the normal ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Why not make the switch? (311 words)

I am an absolute ketchup fiend. I will have it on absolutely everything I eat. Of course I started with a little dollop on my plate next to my chips but that soon developed into all potato products... then all vegetables... and now, well anything without a sauce really! Although this makes all my food taste yummier than usual, there is quite a disadvantage in that it's so salty and sugary. I guess that because Ketchup is actually a condiment, people assume that there is no concern and don't include it in their calorie counting, when in fact there is a lot of unhealthiness to be blamed on that red sauce! The reduced sugar and salt version comes in ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Heinz Reduced Sugar and Salt Tomato Ketchup: Better For You But Does It Taste The Same? (273 words)

I am addicted to Tomato Ketchup but know that it must be really bad for me. When I saw this Reduced Salt And Sugar Ketchup I asked mum to buy it as I thought it would slightly improve my diet (and everyone elses). This version of the famous Heinz Ketchup comes in the same squeezy bottle that the ordinary Ketchup is bought in. The label is the same except there is a blue line outside the green one. Obviously there is also writing stating that the Ketchup has reduced salt ans sugar. If you read the back of the bottle it tells you that this ketchup contains 30% less salt and sugar. It also has no artificial colours, flavours, preservatives or sweeteners. The ...  Read the complete review
