... thing I would have expected them to get right. The flavour is poor and the consistency of the spag bol is certainly not up to the standards of the "stuff mama used to make" (for the records my mama never actually made this). If you like spaghetti Bolognese then steer clear of this as you really do risk putting yourself off it for life, it is not spag bol but more a weak flavoured sauce with some tinned spaghetti and the slightest tiny particles of beef floating in it. In case you might be mad enough to sti...more

Prior to trying Heinz Spaghetti Bolognese in a tin, if you had asked me if spag bol from a tin could be any good I would have given the answer "I don't think so", since trying it I would now give the much more certain answer of "no it cannot"! Immediately on opening the tin I was sure this was not going to be any good, it does not look nor smell very pleasant and you could be forgiven for thinking you had opened a tin of dog food (cheap dog food at that)! The tiny specs of beef that hide themselves very well in the dark reddish brown sauce might as well not be there at all for all the taste they give off and the sauce is not ...  Read the complete review

Over the years I have tried umpteen different brands of spaghetti bolognese and I have to be totally honest when I say that I have never found a brand as good as Heinz. It's odd isn't it, we are willing to make many compromises in the effort to save money on our shopping bill but there are some things that we just cannot compromise on. My most recent disaster on the canned spaghetti bolognese front was bought from Lidl's, I was full of good intentions but when I emptied the contents of the can into the saucepan my heart sank, for starters there was more sauce than anything else and the tiny specks of meat were few and far between. Heinz have to be ...  Read the complete review

This review is a result of an accident - I don't mean that I'm writing this accidentally, as that would be highly improbable... I mean I bought the product by accident. Whilst in the supermarket, I MEANT to pick up plain old Heinz Spaghetti, but I basketed 'Heinz Spaghetti Bolognese' instead, which is housed in a very similar can - silly me. The small 200g can costs 69p from Tesco, whilst in both ASDA and Sainsbury's it's 1p cheaper. Anyway, seeing as I had bought it, I thought I'd better eat the damn thing. After opening the can, the contents didn't want to come out - I didn't know spaghetti could be so shy, and I had to resort to ...  Read the complete review
