... great this smells. It really does smell appetising and I couldn't wait to start eating it. I was getting envious glances from colleagues because this smell was making their mouths water too! It is a rich brown colour with loads of meat and vegetables and little fluffy dumplings (I was actually surprised by how fluffy these were!). It tasted pretty good too, don't get me wrong, it wasn't nearly as nice as a fresh stew, but for a frozen option, was more than acceptable. Each 430g pot provides the following; 335 calo...more

Crowned Review Heinz Taste Of Home Beef Stew and Dumplings Soup: What does your home taste of? (1161 words)

I was in the mood for soup, but wasn't too sure what I fancied; I wasn't really wanting the normal Lentil option I usually go for. Whilst browsing the shelves in Somerfield, I came across a new product, which was on offer for just £1. It was a product in the 'Taste of Home' soup meal range from Heinz, in a delicious-sounding Beef Stew and Dumplings flavour. The tub itself was a circular shape, deep red in colour, with many images of fresh vegetables scattered around the rim; carrots and mushrooms galore shone out, luring me closer. There was also displayed a picture of the contents sitting in a bowl; indeed, it looked incredibly appetising! The soup ...  Read the complete review

I can never make this out, so far I have failed miserably in trying to train the Other Half to feed himself when I decide to have a day out. Oh, he will `feed` himself on toast, cake or anything that is easy to grab hold of but that is about as good as it gets! So I find myself in the middle of the supermarket looking for something that is quick and easy and maybe just needs slipping into the microwave for a few minutes. I noticed this pot of Heinz beef stew soup and came to the conclusion that it fitted the bill perfectly. No saucepans, culinary skills, or great forethought needed. £1.48p for a 430g tub, normally I would normally baulk a little at ...  Read the complete review

Heinz Taste Of Home Beef Stew and Dumplings Soup Description: Manufacturer: Heinz / Type: Soups A 435g tub of this soup cost me £1.50 from my local Tesco. I popped down to get some lunch and saw these, it is the first time that I have noticed them and they sounded delicious, soup with beef stew and dumplings, what's not to like! These come in plastic pots so you don't even need to use a bowl to cook them, just pop them into the microwave (instructions on the back) and then serve. The first thing I noticed was how great this smells. It really does smell appetising and I couldn't wait to start eating it. I was getting ...  Read the complete review

I am genuinely surprised that there are positive reviews for this product on this site! My first experience with these soups was about a month ago: I had been doing the weekly shop in anticipation of what I knew was going to be a very busy week - we had just returned from vacation, so there was nothing in the house, and I had a lot of catching up to do at work. As an alternative to preparing a new meal every night, as a one-week solution, I filled my cart up with ready-made soups and nice bread (I had also gained some weight whilst away and wasn't keen on having a big spread every night!). Tescos was having a deal on these Taste of Home soups so I grabbed ...  Read the complete review
