~~HELLMANS MAYONNAISE~~

'The Hellmann's worldwide brand family, consisting of Hellmann's, Amora, Calvé and Wish-Bone, is the largest dressings business around the globe. Hellmann's is also the world's no. 1 mayonnaise

brand'. In 1905, a German immigrant named Richard Hellmann opened a delicatessen store in New York City and started selling mayonnaise using his wife's delicious recipe. In 1912, glass jars with the famous blue ribbons were introduced. Today, the ribbon has become an icon of product quality and proof of the enduring popularity of the mayonnaise'.


~~More than mayonnaise~~

When I think of Mayonnaise, I think Hellmann's! Its one of those products that has substituted the name of the item by the name of the product; when I run out of mayonnaise, I think to myself, "I must get some Hellmann's", not, "I must get some 'mayonnaise". You know a product has made it when this occurs. Hellmann's 'is' the face of real mayonnaise. Produced by Unilever, it is yet another of their excellent products that maintain high nutritional standards. Unilever are working hard to reduce levels of trans fat, saturated fats, sodium and sugars within their products. To ensure that we, the consumer receive products of the very highest standard, both in nutrition and taste; they have raised the bar with their superb Hellmann's mayonnaise which delivers first class quality of ingredients and supreme flavour.-


~~HELLMANN'S MAYONNAISE~~

The product comes in the glass jar form in varying sizes, or the squeezy plastic stand container. I have the large 750g bottle which in this instance contains a generous 25% extra FREE. It has the familiar blue label with Hellmann's lettered in white above the trademark blue ribbon. It states that this mayonnaise is 'REAL' mayonnaise and that it is rich in omega 3 being a pure natural source within this product. With the slogan of 'Your food deserves the best'. Followed by the claim that Hellmann's Real is the 'Original Mayonnaise'.


~~THE TASTE OF HELLMANN'S ~~

For me it is all about the taste, obviously, and for me, Hellmann's mayonnaise really is the finest flavour of all the mayonnaises, bottled or fresh, that I have tried. Its texture is rich and creamy, fluffy and light. The thick and smooth consistency of Hellmann's is a perfect compliment to food. It has the finest flavouring, with a tang of lemon, vinegar and mustard. It clings to the palate with a delicious, fluffy taste and texture that is no too strong or harsh. I really like to dollop a huge spoon of this on salads and the ingredients are the perfect marriage for a crunchy green salad. I also like Hellmann's with chips. It is ideal to dip your chips in as the French do and it is fantastic in burgers. It aids and enhances a lot of different foods and its flavour is second to none. I actually make my own mayonnaise from time to time, but I still prefer Hellmann's for its thick, fluffy quality. -

I understand from their recent advertising that Hellmann's are now using 'Free Range' eggs in this product. That is good news and more reason than ever for me to buy this product. -


~~SUMMARY~~

Hellmann's is a delicious and wholesome mayonnaise. I love its rich texture and smooth taste. It has no sharp tang to it that some of the cheaper brands have and for the price I think that the quality of Hellmann's is hard to match. It is natural in its ingredients with no preservatives or E additives. As it is so thick and smooth, a little of this goes a long, long way. It is the perfect accompaniment to a great many foods and keeps well within the fridge. For those of you who haven't tried this yet, I recommend Hellmann's Mayonnaise 100%, for its fantastic flavour and natural ingredients. -
