My dad had a jar of this at his so I tried it. He is on a diet at the moment so had cut out all high fat versions of sauces, etc, and as I love mayo I thought I would give it a go :) Hellmann's Extra Light Mayonnaise is advertised as a 'saintly mayonnaise with 3% fat' which makes it a lot less calories than the full fat version... The product comes in a 400g glass bottle (recycle please!) and had a best before date of June next year and my dad says it was about £1,70 which seemed a lot to me but it is a famous brand I guess. On the front of the label there is a part that says only 12 calories per tablespoon which is ... Read the complete review

I think many of us struggle to maintain our weight, I prefer not to diet strictly but if I feel that my weight is starting to creep up then I instinctively know then that is the time to cut back on the `goodies` and nip it in the bud before the bathroom scales start to groan. Maybe I am one of the lucky ones but once I set my mind on losing a few pounds then I find that I actually enjoy the change of diet. I have a good breakfast, usually porridge and fruit followed by a lunch of low fat cheese, fruit and yoghurt and then later on I will enjoy a huge plate of mixed salad with some added protein. If I stick to this plan for a couple of weeks then that extra ... Read the complete review

Being 'A saintly mayonnaise with 3% fat' that little tagline should have been the first thing to appeal to a Weight Watchers Gold Member like me - however the Half Price Offer at 87p for 400gram in Morrisons last week is a damned sight nearer to the truth, folks! Of course we all know 'Hellmann's' brand name is synonymous with quality mayonnaise; but I must admit despite being on a long term healthy eating plan (skipping nicely past how many review's she's done on Cadbury's choccie *Ahem*!) I had not tried this 'Extra Light' version of this creamy accompaniment to many a meal before. Packaged in a recyclable clear glass jar with the famous trademark ... Read the complete review

I have to admit I'm a sucker for a Tuna and Mayonnaise Sandwich or baguette or roll or anything with tuna and mayonnaise in it, my other big vice is chips with Mayonnaise, I like to pretend its because I'm such a cultured Europhile, enjoying the Belgian style of eating, when in fact its just that I'm greedy! So with this obsession with Mayonnaise, I've had to try the Extra Light to at least pretend I care about my weight and health when stuffing my face. This is basically your normal mayonnaise but with less fat. The packaging is the same with a jar filled with lovely white creamy mayonnaise but with a blueish label telling you how great you are for being so ... Read the complete review

Now, I am a girl who can't live without her mayonnaise....but I am also a girl who needs to count the calories, so this makes for a bit of a dilemma.....or at least it did. Thank my lucky stars Hellmann's came up with this gem. Personally, I don't think Hellmann's can be beaten on the mayonnaise front. I've tried others, but really nothing comes close. if by any slim chance you've never bought mayonnaise, please don't buy anything else. It may be cheaper, but is a false economy. I usually buy a 350ml squeezy bottle of Hellmann's Extra Light for about £2.50. It is also available in a large jar, 500ml for about £4.00. I would recommend the squeezy bottle if you ...
