These ready cooked hot dog sausages have easily become one of my favourite snacks. Unlike tinned hot dogs that tend to be drowned in brine, these are packaged as a layer of up to ten in an airtight envelope. This gives them a nicer consistency than the tinned variety. They are also a little longer and fit much better in a decent sized finger roll. These can be cooked with little hassle in a saucepan or microwave, they taste pretty good and don't develop the gritty texture some cheaper hot dogs do. Herta Frankfurters is such a brilliant name non? Based on the classic German frankfurter this product is available in Asda atm for a pack of 10 at only 1.00. I found myself looking for something new to add to my pasta and the result was this. On first glance they're not exactly the healthiest product around with each frankfurter containing 98 calories and of course the ingredients are also questionable. 74% of the frankfurter is actually pork whilst the rest seems to be made up of water and pork fat.
