Advantages: Taste good, not drenched in brine, not gritty

Disadvantages: expensive

These ready cooked hot dog sausages have easily become one of my favourite snacks. Unlike tinned hot dogs that tend to be drowned in brine, these are packaged as a layer of up to ten in an airtight envelope. This gives them a nicer consistency than the tinned variety. They are also a little longer and fit much better in a decent sized finger roll.

These can be cooked with little hassle in a saucepan or microwave, they taste pretty good and don't develop the gritty texture some cheaper hot dogs do. Even better, these can be eaten cold, straight out of the packet. They are even more delicious cold and I can clear a packet with ease.

My only real criticism is that these are fairly expensive and a pack of ten will cost you around £2. While this isn't bad for a quality product, the difference between these and tinned hot dogs is debatable.

Otherwise these are tasty sausages, good for snacks and picnics and can even be added to other meals without losing their flavour. They last a decent amount of time in the fridge and are a nice alternative to tins.

Summary: A versatile brand of hot dog sausages.

I slice these up and fry them with eggs. Makes for a tasty snack.
