As far as Peter Kay is concerned Hob Nobs are the Marines of the biscuit world when it comes to dunking in your brew, they are the hardest ones on the shop shelves, pretty sure he was not referring to the chocolate variety as the chocolate just melts but they are a substantial biscuit that can take a good dunking. Now I'm more a fan of milk chocolate rather than plain but sometimes plain chocolate works really well as a compliment to some foods and in the case of hob nobs I prefer the plain version to the milk one. Hob nobs are an oaty wholemeal sweet biscuit which has a lovely taste, you can see the oats in the biscuit and they have a nice crunchy ... Read the complete review

When buying some present in Sainsburys recently I was starving and went on a bit of a food rampage just throwing things in to the trolley and grabbing whatever was on offer from the ends of aisles, what can I say I was hungry! These dark chocolate hob nobs are currently half price reduced from £1.33 down to 66p which is an absolute bargain. McVities Hob Nobs come in either a tube or a sealed wrapper and as I brought the 300g one mine were in a sealer wrapper which I just peeled open and then emptied in to my biscuit jar. There were around 15 biscuits within which may not sound like a lot but they are much thicker than some of the biscuits I usually ... Read the complete review

Hob Nobs are delicious oat biscuits made by Mcvities. The dark chocolate version of the Hob Nobs make a very nice change. These biscuits are one of husband's favourites so to get in his good books I treat him to a pack every now and again. They are packaged in a dark brown packet. They have a picture of the Hob Nobs on the packet. They have a new piece on the packet saying bigger biscuits! Great. The packet has 300g of the chocolate Hob Nobs. As soon as you open the packet the oaty sweet smell wafts out. The biscuits are very moreish. They are oaty and described on the packet as 'nobbly'. They have a lovely texture and dissolve lovely in a cup ... Read the complete review

McVities chocolate Hobnobs are a family favourite in our house. I buy them for my husband and if we're not careful, he eats the lot. They are approx 6 cm in diameter and covered in a layer of milk chocolate which for me balances perfectly with the oaty taste of the hobnob, stopping the biscuit being too crumbly or dry. The chocolate does tend to have a tendancy to melt in the hot months, so I put ours in the fridge in summer which makes the biscuits even more crunchy but are still delicious. Each biscuit has 76 calories and 3.7 grams of fat so they aren't the healthiest option around but if you're eating chocolate biscuits, who cares. ... Read the complete review

I'm not a great biscuit eater but I do like Hobnobs. The plain ones are just right for me, I find the chocolate ones too fussy. The plain ones are crunchy, but not hard and have a crumbly texture but without falling apart - unless you dunk them. If you do dunk them then you have to be quick - a quick in and out, but you don’t have to be faster than the speed of light like you do with Rich Tea biscuits, which are still the king of dunkers as far as I am concerned. Once dunked these wonderful biscuits just seem to melt away inside your mouth. They have a lovely oaty taste and you can actually see the oat flakes in the biscuits. Despite being oaty ...
