Advantages: Nice taste, Texture, Nearly crumb free

Disadvantages: Gone too quickly!!

Pre-ramble
So it's another snack based review from me...yeah I reckon I eat too much of this stuff, but it tastes so good!

Anyway, ahhh Choco-late Hob-nobs...These have been around a while now but I still believe that they are my favorite biscuity style treat.

They used to come in a normal blue biscuit packet but, "the times they are a changing" and these days they come in this funky new tub thing. The tub is foil sealed and also means you can keep your biccies nice and fresh without needing to spend extra money on a tin. Money of course which could be spent on more Hobnobs! Hurrah!

These Chocolate Hobnobs will cost you just under £1 from most supermarkets and boy howdy, it's money well spent!

The Test Drive
Right so now to test drive the Hobnobs. First of all I made myself a nice cup of tea. Not a normal cup of tea, a NICE cup of tea. Mmm nice. Anyway armed with my cup of tea I set 4 chocolate hobnobs beside it, to represent the 4 seasons of the year, obviously. I then took a deep breath and then began the biscuity test drive...

Taking a big bite of my first Chocolate Hobnob, (which from this point on I shall refer to as a "CHB" in a vain attempt to appear hip and in touch), I was hit with the chocolate and oaty taste. I felt that using chocolate on the CHB is a clever touch as it stops the biscuit from becoming too dry.

Another bite and that's one CHB polished off. I must say I am a fan of the milk chocolate they use on CHBs, it has a rather nice tang to it.

A quick slup of my tea now...mmm nice.

Taking a look at the next CHB, I observed that there is a pattern they use on the chocolate, similar to the one you get on McVities Chocolate Digestives. A nice bit of continuity across the range there I think!

Anyway taking a bite of this particular biscuit I had a think about the oaty part. This is definitely nice and crunchy and the texture is a good contrast to the smoothness of the milk chocolate. The oaty part also looks to have become a bit darker to me these days, but maybe the old eyes are playing tricks on me again! Anyway another couple of bites and that particular CHB was finished off, gone to join its compatriot in my tum.

OK time for some more tea now...mmm still nice.

Onto the 3rd CHB now. This time for variation I decided to put the entire biscuit into my mouth in one go! After a considerable amount of crunching and chewing I can confirm that it is indeed possible to eat an entire Hobnob in this manner. I did feel that it marked the fact like so many other snacks these biscuits may have become smaller. I'm sure I never used to be able to fit one in my gob!Anyway from this rather extreme experiment I can tell you that there is definitely a bit of a taste explosion to be had here although on the downside the CHBs do tend to disappear at a rather fast rate!! This is probably not recommended for kids though, just big kids like me!

Another tea break, had quite a glug this time...

The final biscuit now. Quite a poignant moment as after I had scoffed this biscuit the test would be at an end. On eating this CHB I was impressed by the lack of crumbs it produced. These Hobnobs do seem to hold together rather well, unlike some other brands which seem to leave you covered in lots of biscuit debris!

Just time to finish off my tea while I think how to sum up the test drive...

Conclusion
In conclusion then I can thoroughly recommend Chocolate Hobnobs to all biscuit fans. They score highly on taste and texture and also seem to be quite robust.

Once point to mention is that in hot weather the chocolate does tend to melt rather easily!

Anyway aside from this slight reservation, I think these can truly be crowned the King of Biscuits!!

Thanks for reading!
